Jamendo, a free music service out of Europe. There are roughly ten bajillion acts on this thing, and I'm completely unfamilliar with almost all of them. I've heard of Brad Sucks, of course, Diablo Swing Orchestra, Revolution Void. A lot of the other stuff sounds like bad Eurovision song tryouts.
But, with this much on the site, I am no doubt missing a lot. In terms of finding the good stuff? I suppose you just need to search for genres you enjoy and seek out related artists. I don't go through it very often, but every once in a while I pop by the regular site and have a poke through popular tracks.

I gotta say, I kinda miss the old (first generation) Mp3.com tagging. I used to find the best acts by searching for a band I liked that was guaranteed not to be on MP3.com. The search would list bands that claimed to sound like whomever I'd searched for, among others, and I could look for interesting combinations within those lists.]]>
