Lovely lovely FA stuff this week as ever. Gorgeous colours. That scene with Connor underwater looking at the aftermath of the flooding is quite devastating. It's one thing to have an attractively depicted post apocalyptic London - it's another thing to see the bodies.

edit: Oh and nice hint as to what KK is up to.

I'm good. Managed to take half the day off and have a wander around some trendy markets down in Fremantle obstentiously in search of a nice wooden chest, but really just because I felt like it.

I still have no idea what's going on, but I'm loving the journey. The last panel of page 4 with Mark's floating hair is quite striking, and the immediately-post-crash page 5 with the floating dead bodies is a nice reminder of exactly what the 'Angels actually did.

And what has Alice seen? A plane from the outside world?

Yes, this is good, and I'm rather peachy as well.

Ideas are starting to congeal into pretty blobs of strange colours.

Just about to go drive to the better supermarket on the edge of my village and buy some materials for lunch. And quite likely either a sausage roll the thickness of a human wrist or a scotch egg with inch thick walls of sausage meat.

Also a pot of coffee and the newspaper.

Then popping along to the local Science Fiction club literature night because I half promised and it is an excuse to pick up comics and eat curry.

I'm loving this run of episodes, as in more than usual. I think it's the mental colours.

So Connor (sort of dead) is chatting with Mark (having a stroke) re: what they need to remember about the future they're currently privy to? And they're only able to do this because future-them and the rest are opening the channel?

Sleepy, sleepy too. Had a weird conversation with my subconscious so this episode was all the more trippy and the first time I imagined a Jimi Hendrix - Eastenders theme tune mash up. I too loved the depiction of the flooded world in contrast to what we've seen.

Now, while I'd be willing to side with Mark on this, I'd also say his unwillingness to recognize that his plans might not be perfect is probably favors the others. His plan to get the authorities to stop pursuing them? Punch a hole in the Earth. (I suppose yes, he got the desired outcome, but at more of a price than he was expecting.) His plan to get Alice to infiltrate and kill the group? Failure. (Though she did work as a distraction, I guess.) His plan to get Kait to "talk"? Failure.

His strict adherence to his own shit not stinking his probably his biggest problem. "Best laid plans" and all that. Is it ego that keeps him from seeing this? (Probably.)

My main problem is that I'm still not sure what to be thinking about Mark right now. His words (like Luke's words) are making sense, and he doesn't sound particularly malicious. Which is making all sorts of Skepticism Bells go off in my head. The most dangerous people say the craziest things and make it sound completely sane.

As for my week? My daughter started school and brought home some Child-Borne Death Virus. I'm not terribly happy about that, as now both my wife and I are incredibly sick. Children, what are they good for, amirite?

good news on the personal front - nothing torn in my "good" knee - it is just really irritated and inflamed and I have to take it easy and take a few weeks - which I'm not a fan of but considering I originally thought I'd done serious damage and would have a matching damaged knee ligaments I'll take that prognosis and be happy about it

On a personal note, a few weeks ago my right arm swelled up to Popeye proportions(I swear to god It almost sprouted an anchor tatoo.)
It turned out to be a blood clot, techincal term a Deep Vein Thrombosis. It was slightly unsettling news but I was okay with it, the doctor told me I needed to take blood thinning medicine, Coumin to be precise, and that due to the fact that the clot was at my upper right shoulder(under the arm pit somewhere) which he said is uncommon, I had to take the medicine for 6 months instead of the standard 3 months, which i figured was not too bad considering, until I found out I could not ingest any alcohol.

A week of almost completions: we have a bathroom! which is always good in my book, even if there's still no mirror so I have to shave by the faint reflection off the new tiles. And two papers got wrapped up, with one off to a journal, another due to say bye bye on Mon. and a third almost finished except I'm at that stage where I'm so close to the work that re-reading it all I get is madness madness ... so I need to back away, pig out on proper 'chippy' chips tonight and sidle up to it again tomorrow, or even sunday. And t'wife's away so I get to ... do what i normally do because I am that sad.

MASSIVELY RAMIFIED. I'm not completely sure what it means, but I think it'd be a safe bet that it's exactly the way this week's episode left me.

@SnapDragon: Great idea! Peter Weir would be an excellent choice to direct FA: The Motion Picture. Although I would go with Terry Gilliam ...or maybe Richard Brooks.

On the musical mash up front, I think Fixing a Hole would blend quite nicely with the Eastenders theme, and if we throw in Purple Haze, we can put a big purple and orange neon ribbon on it. Hmm, that might work splendidly under the main credits. Check with Peter ...or Terry ...or Richard. What? This is all just idle speculation, limited (at least for the nonce) to my own rather desperate imaginings??? Well of course it is. Sorry. I didn't notice the enormous lime-green brain standing there, synapses a-crackling.

Agreed. It's probably not very likely to be KK's machine, because not enough time has passed for her to put one together, I think. Isn't all of this happening in just a couple of hours? That, and Alice is looking out at more of a downward angle, if I'm not mistaken. I think we just all WANT it to be something KK put together, because they've already suffered so many blows over the past week (in canon) that we can't really accept that any more shit could hit the fan so soon.

Well last week I mentioned that suicide may have different ramifications for the Freaks...maybe that's what MASSIVELY RAMIFIED could mean? Could it be possible that when the Freaks die KNOWING that it will expand the package, it expands it even more...or less...or something different altogether?

The upgrade also seems to be a subconscious act, so consciously 'dying for the express intent of an upgrade' could somehow bring about a proverbial 'Special Feature' ?

For those who have been thinking about picking them up, they're rough canvas - very rugged, and ridiculously loaded down with pockets. Very useful, looks great!

Ahh, been waiting for that, this being the first internet access I've had in a few days. Still, seeing as the reason for that is that I'm in Ireland with the old man, and have been enjoying a fine selection of music, pubs and scenery for the past few days, I can't complain. But goddamn, that was like not smoking for a few days and then inhaling a whole Cuban cigar soaked in amyl nitrate - I'm feeling a little bit headrushed right now. I heartily agree that Mr Ellis is a fine dealer - any second now, a mushroom god with three bearded, red bull drinking faces is going to appear to me and say "I am your stash". And yeah, that panel of the flooded street immediately after the crash is just horribly good.
