    Elvis Costello did a cover of Yoko Ono's "Walking on Thin Ice" I rather like, but it's impossible to find on the web.
    Myspace has a 1:30 sample. Oh well.

    i agree, but the thread is for interesting cover versions, not just good ones, and i think it qualifies in that respect.

    edited to add i've got no clue why the second one won't load, but it's an excellent cover of the swans' no cure for the lonely by nadja off the same album as the slayer cover.

    Just as a heads up, there's an independent radio station called Soma FM that has a station specifically for covers. They have a bunch of other stations that are awesome too.

    You can listen to their stations through their website, special feeds that you only have to load once into iTunes, an iPhone app, or even a free channel on your Roku box.

    Oh yeah, and all of their stations are commercial free.
