I can't hear the topic of cover songs brought up in conversation without instantly thinking about this mellow little gem.

Djali Zwan covering Iron Maiden's "Number of the Beast".

Also, this cover of The Ramones' "Blitzkrieg Bop" by Rob Zombie saw pretty heavy rotation during my first year of uni.

There's an album that is nothing but Metal covers of Studio Ghibli theme songs.
    These two are my favourites.

I really like the cover of 'Personal Jesus' (Depeche Mode) by Johnny Cash, with John Frusciante on guitar:

And the Life of Agony version of Redemption Song (Bob Marley of course). No video, but here:

Placebo cover Serge Gainsbourg's "Requiem Pour Un Con", with translated Lyrics :

Placebo - Requiem for a Jerk

For those of you who don't know the original song (that would be most of non-French people, I'm afraid) Here it is

Most of you know him as the voice of Early Cuyler, but Unknown Hinson, or the KANG, is also one of the most underrated guitarist today...

Cover of Dr Dre - Bitches ain't shit

Oh and I can't resist some William Shatner (again Ben Folds influenced) cover of Pulps Common People:
