The best way to start these things is to get everyone saying hello. So please introduce yourselves in this thread, adding a photo if you've got one (trust me -- the web works much better when people see that there are real people on the other end of a post).

Obviously, if you've said hello in previous Introduction threads, there's no need to do it again.

We don't insist on real names here. I find it helps, but, frankly, if you want to be a completely fictional invention of yourself, go right ahead. Hell, I've even known people who have started out fictional and then become their own invention.

    Hello. I'm Warren.

    Howdy. I'm Gregg.

I'm a graduate student at Georgia Tech working on a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering. My hobby is collecting hobbies. As of late I've been doing a fair amount of amateur puppetry in the city. I also like to cook, take care of my dog and cat, garden, shoot guns, fuck around in Photoshop, drink, date 19-year-old dudes, and pore over the internet. I used to do stained glass but I don't have that kind of time anymore.

Warren once threatened to shove a unicorn jigsaw puzzle up my "arse".

This is what I look like:

    Cheers!

    Howdy Gregg!

Welcome to one of the more interesting melting pots on the web.

    Edited to add:

This generally goes without saying, but mind The Rules (somewhere in this sticky section) and I would recommend not petting the arse eels.

Edited further to ensure I am not being a douchebag

    Hi, I am Hank.

I am a mediocre art student who is still working IT until he figures out the whole infamy thing. (Puh lease, I am more DaDa than Renoir, I can admit it and I am ok with that) I do a little of everything. I frequently ponder if I am improving, decide I might be and continue anyway.

    This is me

Hello, the name is Matt or Ren, whichever you prefer.

Semi-pro writer of short fiction, politics nerd, and I've been around here almost as long as there's been a Whitechapel to lurk on. I live in the south Bay Area in California and I work in HR. Yes, I'm one of those bastards (but the nice one who calls you to say "You're hired!").

Hi there, I'm Dan Abbott. I make music. My two main projects are Thee Hobo Gobbelins, an unseelie all-monster jug band

and with my acoustic duo Bobby Joe Ebola and the Children MacNuggits, which for some reason recently made a rap video:

I also write, make board games and come up with awful ideas. I have been a journalist, an anthropologist, a carny, and an activist, and have not entirely given up on any of those. I once gave a lecture that started a mosh pit.

Oh, duh, a picture. Here's what I look like when I'm posing for a film noir-themed photo shoot:

hi! my name is meg gandy. i draw a webcomic over here, and write a blog over there, and at one point i did a little shit book for a little shit company, and supposedly i'll be doing a less-shit book for a less-shit company soon, but we'll see.

i can't decide what little bit of art to splash up as an example, so here's what i tend to use as a signature on other boards: godsend

i used to lurk the hell out of the engine boards. planning to be more involved this go-round.

Haha; now thats funny cause I was born in Eastern Europe under the communist regime Josip Broz Tito left in former Yugoslavia. On a different note, most artists are not Damien Hirst, nore would most go as far as to sell themself.
Anyway I digress, keep up the good work.

    'Allo

Names Romeo. Yes that is my real name.

I'm your average art school drop out with delusions of grandeur. I dont really do much of anything at this very moment except work in a big box store, and try to get rent payed every month. In my off time I'm trying to get a biopunk web comic together, and get my sorry ass back into university (think I'm done with art mind you, thinking something more sciency.)

No photo, but I do have an outdated self portrait I painted. I really need to paint a new one, this is like two years old.Self portrait.

Hello, my name is Mike, and I came across this board last year during a search for more info on the last Planetary issues. Liked what I saw , so I stuck around and lurked for awhile. Born and raised in the SF Bay Area of California, where the beautiful Mediterranean climate comes with a steep price. I masquerade as an accountant (my degree is in History) to pay the mortgage, and my artistic output is limited to doodling during meetings and building plastic models of planes and cars, so basically the same things I was doing when I was 12. I have two cats and a decent collection of railroad antiques (also from my younger days) and a nice little house in the Sacramento area.

I am also occasionally accosted by pool table brushes:

and orchids. They'll sneak right up on you and steal your camera if you're not careful:

(whoa, one o' them pics came out tiny!)

I've been away from here for quite some time now, only checking it on Fridays (you know why), so I suppose it may be an idea to re-introduce myself as I'm gonna aim to get using this forum more.

My name is Joe Glass, I'm an as yet unpublished (though have had favorable comments from a host of more successful types) comics writer, working a scumm dayjob in the retail sector and hating every second of it. I try to get to as many cons as I can (which means I get every con lurgy going, but gotta mingle, y'know), and I am working hard at the moment to try and get two of my projects published. I have many more ideas and am always on the lookout for new artists to work with, as I cannot draw to save my life.

Here are a couple of links to my most worked on projects:

First up, here's STIFFS, on which I am a co-writer. This is a comic that is currently being pitched to publishers. Fingers crossed.
Next is The Pride, my own story with the same artist as I work with on STIFFS. Still very early stages, so worth joining the group to keep updated.

The bird hat, along with my best Blockatiel impression

As you can see, I also have a love of crazy hats.

Oh hai guys! Long time reader of Freakangels here, but a first-time forum-goer. My friend Caroline - you guys know her as Dorkmuffin - keeps showing me these awesome things that this awesomely artful community does, so I figured I had to see what all the fuss is about!

About me.. I'm a Brit living in Washington, DC who just graduated with a major in Chinese and is looking for a way to reconcile the three. I am a big ol' nerd with a great love of sci-fi, animes, creative writing, theatre, Irish whiskey and the works of Haruki Murakami. I have this story idea that I've been thinking about for three years now and one day I might actually put a word of it down on paper!

Here's me! I am somewhat ridiculous a lot of the time.
