It really felt like a series finale more than a season finale, but I heard during the credits of the finale it says something about season 5. God I hope so. Everything just seemed so wrapped up and tidy, that I felt this "goodbye" feeling from the show.

@ government spy- yeah it says at the final shot of the credits that the Venture Brothers shall return, and confirmed by Wikipedia, for what that's worth:
It is unknown when, but during the credits in the Season 4 finale, it is confirmed that The Venture Bros. will be returning for Season 5.

Finally got to see the finale. Goddamn, that was great. Yes, it did feel like a series finale--I guess they got the pickup at the eleventh hour, which is usually the case with these things.

I was grinning like an idiot from when Pulp kicked in, all the way to the end.

One more vote for best tv cartoon ever. There is quite a few that I have really enjoyed from cartoon networks adult swim. Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Metalacolypse, Squidbillies and Superjail. But none of them except for Metalacolypse & Venture Brothers, can I watch several times and find something new in it that I didn't catch before. Venture Bros has also evolved. Maybe it's the Hunter S Thompson fanatic in me, or the comic geek, or Bowie fan, but that show tickles me in so many ways. I also love the obscure references, probably because I get them all and it feels like I'm privy to some inside joke. And Brock Sampson is the best bodyguard/Secret Agent ever. Sorry, but Brock could beat Bond to death with one of his own bloody appendages that he has torn off him with his bare hands. James' Alfa Romeo, or Aston Martin or what ever fancy, oil leaking European symbol of wealth and prestige he's behind the wheel of would be no match for Brock, behind the wheel of his Charger smoking a Marlboro that he tore the filter off while blasting Led Zeppelin IV.

Yeah, definitely the best cartoon I've ever seen. I started watching the other night and ended up blowing through the first three seasons in about three days. The characterization, the homages, the sheer depth of the references... how the hell Adult Swim greenlit this, I'll never know, but I'm so fucking glad they did. Only other show that's come close is Moral Orel.

Doc Hammer and Co are the ONLY folk who could do an animated series of Transmet any justice.
