Install the Whitechapel toolbar (FF & IE)

So I've been playing with this for about a month already, and Warren says it's time for me to share.

The Whitechapel toolbar is a toolbar for your browser (IE or Firefox) for, well, Whitechapel. Spend at least half your day here? You'll probably like the RSS feed for new posts. The Quickpost and Quickblog links will take you to the respective Whitechapel "Create a new discussion/blogpost" pages. And I've added some RSS and link functionality for a few of the other sites we hit on a regular basis (I TOLD you all I'd find a way to rack-mount a warrenellis.com feed to your foreheads...)

Oh yeah-- it's got two radios, at the moment. We'll see about that, later.

As Warren lets me add new functionality to the thing (I've got a couple of ideas, but I suppose he wants to see if you're even interested, yet) the toolbar will automagically update to anyone that's got it installed. As I say, I've had it running for a month-- it's ad free (the search function will take you to google, that's the only non-ours site you'll ever have to see) and seems to work pretty much perfectly on IE or Firefox.

(Before any other browser users ask, if it were possible to get it on your system, we'd offer it, I promise. If you can GET it working on your system, that's awesome. I can't support it on anything but FF/IE, though, period.)

Oh, just go play with the thing, it's a new toy. Have fun. OK, I found it, but I don't recommend it for the average user.

On Vista, I looked in my profile data path:

C:\Users\MyProfile\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\DefaultProfile\CT1444409

...and found a 'LocalSettings.txt'. In there, editing the color value in the FONT tag made the desired change. Was I wrong to assume the search box would do in-site searches? I noticed, after I installed the toolbar, it changed the Firefox (version 3) search box to "Whitechapel Customized Web Search". But when I looked up something w/ it, it was just a Google Web search on a WC-branded page.

In the first days, I didn’t have any problem deleting or marking all the items. Then, when I got 1 new item on Warren’s blog, grinding or Freakangels episodes a whole lot of old items showed up again even if I had deleted them. In the last few days, I mark all items as read in the Whitechapel discussions but minutes after marking, it says I have 50 new items when in fact just a few ones are really new.
Help?
