For those of you that don't read Warren's website, today's skip may come as a surprise. But the other three of you probably saw it coming.

We (in the Northern hemisphere) are, of course, heading into horribly violent disease season -- is everyone else surviving? Because if you're not dead, there's absolutely no reason for you not to be going to see RED tonight. No. No reason. None.

    Warren has a website? *clenches*
I'm surprised any virus/bacteria can survive within Warren. I hope he is recovering.

Had dinner with William Gibson and a few of his other European fans at the weekend. Took my FA field bag, one other diner was wearing an FA t-shirt and I discussed the current cliffhanger with another of the diners.
Got to see the doctor tonight and I expect to be medicated for my blood pressure. I have made a start in changing my diet by replacing all fatty and salty foods in my work day with fruit. Next I (and the people around me) have to go through the misery of giving up smoking again. I hope to get my blood pressure down and get off any medication as soon as possible. Looking at the side effects, I hope I don't get the constipation and the diarrhoea at the same time.

Indeed, most of Britain appears to have the Komodo Dragon Flu or Titanium variants of same. I had the Bulgarian Closed Throat Croaking version a couple of weeks ago so my sincere sympathies for anybody caught up in it.

I expect society to start fraying at the edges soon and am buying soup. Autumnwatch had a rosehip and beetroot soup recipe on tv last night that might be worth a go.

I have mainly spent this week recovering from meeting up with 30 of my geeky friends and having a weekend long party together in some secluded cottages near the lovely town of Chester where the Orange People live. I am so very very tired (and I miss them now). HURRAY FOR FRIDAY!!

Kradlum - good luck with the new diet. I am supposed to be doing the same but it's so hard. Bad food is so very very tasty. Peppermint tea helps with the stomach problems.

Warren doesn't get diseases; diseases get Warren.

Pretty much everyone in my corner of the world is ill right now, or has been in the recent past. I may start swinging round one of those big ass incense burners on a chain in an attempt to ward off the pox. Hope you feel fully recovered soon, Warren. Have great weekends, everyone else.

I have a thesis I've been explaining to my social circle lately:

    "Everyone is sick. Everyone."

My own experience with illness has been rather odd. It was a week ago today that I first realized I was actually sick (I'd suspected it on Thursday, but had nothing conclusive.) Since then, every day has been worse than the last, but none of them have been truly horrible. I have been in a very slow and steady decline for a week, now. I have to say I'm glad it's happening this way, rather than a four day progression through horrible illness, because I had a Calculus test yesterday and a Physics exam in three hours. I've been able to show up to class, albeit medicated by Menthol cough suppressants.

Pity we've no Freakangels. I was looking forward to Sirkka seeing everybody with an upgrade deal with their newfound powah. But, I'm someone who reads Warren's website, and I wouldn't want the FA production team to get behind in its release queue (I baselessly assume you make each episode well ahead of its release date and simply halt releases when there's a halt in production.)

Given that I am, apparently, one of the three that read his website. I had already mentally prepared myself for a skip week, though I had hoped it wouldn't be the case. Currently, the Komodo Dragon has not reached our area, so that's good.

Could Mr. Ellis be patient zero?

Staticgirl - I think I've spotted you walking past my office from Sainsburies when I've been smoking, assuming you have scarlet hair like your image. I'm not stalking, I just noticed you weren't the woman who works on the 5th floor with scarlet hair, because (I presume) you don't have tattooed feet.

Just nitpicking, but that first "Moon Sweatshirt" looks an awful lot like some sort of field bag.

Kradlum - it is a fairly pinky scarlet but you may well have done, especially on Wednesdays when it is 2000AD day. No I don't have any tattoos anywhere. :) I work 22 floors up, we had a fire alarm on Tuesday and I had to walk all the way down. I am still limping.

I have some kind of bizarre infection myself. Thankfully I work in a hospital, so I'll just kick over to the clinic before my skin starts to come off.

I was gonna offer to sequence a sample of Mr. Ellis's virus, but then I checked the "List of Things I Don't Want From Warren Ellis" and it includes:

    4) biological gifts
    5) UK and US Customs' attention

So, all I can say is that I hope he's on the mend and back soon to flex his great and terrible presence.

Thank God it's friday again. Why do weeks pass by so slow?

    SH***, no FA-episode, a notice. :-(

Oops, Warren was fighting bad nasty little beasties... :-O

Well, I hope all goes into the good direction for Warren, and I will wait another week to read the next episode of this great series. Impatiently, but I will wait. ;-)

I was coughing all last week and thought I was coming down with something that'd mean I'd hallucinate my way through covering the EDL in Leicester last Saturday.

Thankfully I didn't have plague visions to make the very real threat of having my head kicked in by thugs even scarier.

I will see RED when it is out in the UK.

    Get well soon, Warren!

Everyone is sad because a) Warren's been sick b) no FA or c) a lot of people will have to wait to see RED, so why not some comedy to cheer everyone up?

Safe from infection--so far. I find that I usually get the Illness around winter time anyway.
  8.  (9051.17)
I'm backlogged with screenings like nobody's business. That said, if I can make time for the "semi-enh" Grant Morrison documentary, I'll make time for RED.

    Get better soon, Warren Ellis!

Eel flu i reckon, eel flu.
Trundling round the country delivering stuff to shops means it's almost inevitable i'll get it and then vector it round the rest of the country.
Yer doomed, all of yers. Doomed.

My best wishes for a speedy recovery to the sickly Mr Ellis and anyone else infected.

I'm guessing Warren et al don't get much sun. Check this out: and go out and get some sunshine and vitamin-D pills. (No pseudo-science here, these are real serious papers.)

    Be well!
