Really enjoying the new album from The Corin Tucker Band. Great to have her back (Sleater-Kinney is still one of my all time favorite bands).

Also discovered this great new band called Cusses via They only have a couple of songs out but I highly recommend "Custody":

Stockhausen's Mantra performed by the Pestova/Meyer piano duo.

(Yes, I'm plugging my friend's work, but only because it is genuinely awesome and because it's honestly what I'm playing right now.
Seriously. I saw them perform it live about 2 years ago, and was decidedly excited about it. I'd been eagerly awaiting the cd release from that moment until recently when I finally got my hands on a copy.)

The project page offers some information including how to build your own controllers or a download of the drivers and the performance patch if you're into that sort of thing.

Edited so that the first link actually goes to the page with the audio samples. Oops!

    @ allana

Yup, it's from 2002, I think. He does, indeed, release his music as Leyland Kirby now.

for better or worse my yearly Opeth binge began this weekend and will conceivably last for a month or two. As I type this it's 'Deliverence'. Also a little Sabbath Vol.4 in the mix

i re-listened to the new Menomena and realized just how atrocious those lyrics are.

then i went through three or four Kim Hiorthoy albums. now i'm on a huge 70s/80s downloading binge, including completing my Bauhaus and Bowie discographies, and finally getting Todd Rundgren's Runt.

Tommy Smith - Root Down 12 minutes of pure funk beauteousness

Also liking the new Belle & Sebastian album but I think I may be alone amongst Whitechapelers in this..

Got a ticket to see them at the Glasgow Barrowlands in December.

That is where Bible John started his badness in the same way Jack The Ripper was a denizen of Whitechapel (makes this post seem a little less fey pop).

Black Keys and Black Angels are also getting an airing on the Ipod.

@allana I am really liking Menomena especially Taos.

    5 minutes of brilliant tune.

The only bad thing about them is their muppet associated name.
