You do a webcomic? Tell me about it here. Not more than one or two images, please, or else the thread takes forever to load. Don't forget the bloody link.

Relax. There are only 9000 members of Whitechapel, plus god knows how many drop-ins who aren't registered members. Only around 2500 people per day visit Whitechapel on average. Except when it's busy, or when I run links from warrenellis.com.

And they all want to read webcomics.

NOTE: this is not for people to list their favourite webcomics. We've done that before. Boring.

As always, thanks for putting up this thread, Warren. Not just for the chance to shamelessly self-promote, but because I've found some excellent webcomics via this thread.

So, hello again everyone. My name is Scott Springer and I do a webcomic called Angry Faerie , which I describe as "tinkerbell meets Dragonball (not Dragonball Z mind you). It updates every Monday/Wednesday/Friday, and I just crossed the 100 strips mark a little over a week ago.

The current storyline involves Angry Faerie trying to prove her mother is not the so-called Murder Faerie. This has led her to meet up with her brother, Artus, and her former best friend Brinda. Brinda has, with Artus's help, created a clone of Angry Faerie much to Angry Faerie's chagrin. At first it seems the clone could be the Murder Faerie, but well... that doesn't seem to be the case after all.

Al'Rashad is something written by me and illustrated by the stupidly talented Davinder Brar before somebody (probably Warren) realizes how good he is and starts paying him to do what he's currently doing for free. The high concept pitch for my series, Omnitarium, is Charles Dickens' Assault on Precinct 13.

A period horror, it tells of the capture and execution of a mass-murder in the 18th century. Nearly one hundred years later, as a group of guests arrive at the mysterious Pentansley Gaol, something is trying to cross over from the afterlife to our world.

Told in four chapters, the series already has the entire first chapter up, and most of the second one is there. Written by myself, it contains art by J.C. Grande, and lettering by Bernie Lee.

Crash On Planet Infinity!! is done by myself and my internet pal John Abbott. It's a humor webcomic updated Mondays, based around our mutual love of shlocky 50's and 60's spacefare sci-fi films. The gist is that the U.S.S. STARFUCKER crash-landed on Planet Infinity, an uninhabited (maybe) planet unknown to the rest of the galaxy. Four survivors, conveniently color-coded, try their damndest to survive.

I do RED LIGHT PROPERTIES all myself; it's about a small real estate office on Miami Beach that specializes in "previously-haunted homes" they exorcise and list for victims of foreclosure. The family-run firm is headed up by Jude Tobin, a schlubby shaman who uses massive amounts of hallucinogens on a daily basis to enter the spirit world to convince the ghosts to leave the premises, and his (recently) ex-wife Cecilia Matos-Tobin.

I've already finished the first novel-length (200pgs) volume of the series this year, which was serialized on Tor's site (and yes, it's still up there for free)... but the story doesn't end there.

After dealing with either too many or too few people in the mix working with Tor, I've decided to move the series to its all-new RLP site with new weekly stories coming every Tuesday starting November 16th. The first OGN will join the new stuff (in multiple languages) after New Year.

In the meantime, plug into any one of these feeds to stay in touch while I roll up to the relaunch:

Well I just started one so I'll throw my hat in. It's a little rough as my style seems to change from panel to panel but I'm hoping to improve quickly. It is (or will be, once the story gets to that point) about super heroines, well, super heroes but most of the main characters are women and it'll be sort of a realistic take on them, and hopefully lots of comedy and action along the way. Hi Everyone! I'm Kevin Freeman, Managing Editor at small-press publisher Ape Entertainment and creator and writer of the twice weekly webcomic SubCulture, which I do with artist Stan Yan. We've been doing the strip since February 2008, and it was a four-issue comic book series before that, so SubCulture has been around for going on four years, which ain't bad in the webcomic world.

The strip is all about geek culture, and revolves primarily around the lives of a closet geek, a proud fanboy, and a passive aggressive femme fatale, although we have a pretty fleshed out cast of supporting characters as well.

Thanks for this, Warren! I'll have to come back to bookmark some of these. As for myself, I do a fantasy webcomic called Bardsworth. It's about a young man who stumbles into another world and starts attending college there in order to learn magic. His friends include elves, fairies, and a demon who loves to bake. It's turning five years old next week! Currently I'm doing a storyline that is recounting one of the characters' past (it's darker than the previous story lines so it's a little different).

Here's a recent goofy strip that's more in line with Bardsworth's usual fare.

I write a weekly updated webcomic with artist Andrew Sides and colorist Errol Rich Jr. called BORDER CROSSINGS. There are currently over 70 pages (3+ issues) of story online.

BORDER CROSSINGS is a dark marine fantasy where a salvage submarine’s strange crew must redefine freedom for their drowned world. Here are two page examples:

If you prefer comparisons it’s Firefly, Labyrinth and Perdido Street Station in a nautical steampunk mash-up. The story is also an allegory for the modern era of globalization.

Venetia Toco falls through a portal to another world in a surfing accident. The place she ends up in is mostly oceanic, with only one remaining island. Strong economic disparity exists between the intelligent marine races and the remaining “air-breathers.” These different ethnicities have one thing in common: they all fetishize artifacts from Earth. Why? Because anything from Earth (bullets, chunks of wood, even human beings) can invoke special powers from ancient symbols called graphemes. Before the undead border patrol can capture her, a cuttlefish-shaped salvage submarine named The Rhizome retrieves Venetia. She joins the ship’s crew of odd displaced beings, led by the provocative radical Captain M.P. Skulker.

I'm a former Zuda winner (with the comic Sidewise) and this is my other webcomic called Light Apprentice, that can be billed today as "Scott Pilgrim meets Final Fantasy", because it has an RPG system built in the comic. It's been alive for almost three years and I believe the current website is going to be the final home for the comic.

There's also an animated webseries being developed, with the first episode already up.

I was beckoned back via the Twitters to chime in about my webcomic, Multiplex, which is a sitcom-style humor comic about the staff of a movie theater. So there's a lot of movie jokes, movie commentary, and just enough stupid humor and teen drama to keep the characters interesting. Since there's a bit of continuity, and the humor is more character-based than gag-strippy, I recommend people start from the beginning.

Here's a semi-recent, short, self-contained one:

And a somewhat self-contained strip from a short arc from a while back. A little explanation: a recurring thing in the strip has the characters pulling pranks on each other, but it's really just a way to incorporate movie parodies and such into the comic. In this case, they're doing a riff on A Christmas Carol on Jason:

I'm Bill, the Wildcat. I do an online photo-comic strip called "The Wildcat's Lair." I post episodes every Wednesday and Friday with the occasional bonus episode thrown in once in a blue moon. The comic follows my misadventures with my computer-generated pet cat Frank, his best pal Hip (a dragon with allergy issues who looks more like a hippo with wings and a serious Claritin D habit), Frank's Uncle Kerouac (who is always high on catnip), my wife (aka "Dragon Queen"), my two kids and a house full of my wife's dragon collection.

I like to think the combo of pictures and graphic artwork set my comic strip apart from most. I've been doing episodes for years now, so you can kill quite a lot of time just going through old episodes. I also produce a really sharp-looking calendar for the comic strip which you can buy directly from my comics webpage (yes, shameless plug, I know).

And lest I forget... Warren, thanks for this opportunity to promote all of our comic strips!

First Law Of Mad Science is a sci-fi/horror adventure story about super-scientist inventor George Baker and his family. George's most recent invention is a world-changing cybernetic eye enhancement, called "Cyber-Eyes," that is so amazing, and so cheap and easy to implant, that two fifths of the world gets the procedure within the first year. At that point, however, George and his team start to realize that the very first test subjects to get the implant, a group that includes George's own son, are starting to see awful things that no one else is aware of. Are the things real, or just a malfunction of the equipment? What is causing the visions? And how can they be stopped before the problem spreads to everyone with the implants, and causes worldwide panic and hysteria?

These mysteries will launch George and his family into a globe-trotting adventure where they'll uncover ancient civilizations, underground cities, sinister cults, corporate conspiracies, and killer robots.

The first chapter of First Law Of Mad Science is still in production; we've got an eight page preview online at our site. We're aiming to publish it in print, but bringing it to the web is something we've been thinking a lot about.

Hi. Zombie 2012 is a webcomic created by Jason Primmer, written by Josh Bertwistle and illustrated by Mark Cromwell. It follows the adventures of Korben Shaw as he sails the east coast with his friends Greybreard and Taryn, looking for an ancient Mayan cure for the zombie plague.

Devil Inside is a free weekly webstrip produced by Todd Stashwick and Dennis Calero. It tells the story of Jack Springheel, aka the Devil. Jack has a crisis of conscience and goes on the lam in the Nevada desert. Forces in hell are conspiring to drag him back. If Jack doesn't use his mojo they can't detect him. He's a man with a bounty on his head running from a past, seeking a new truth.

Todd and Dennis met when Dennis was drawing the comic for the NBC show Heroes' comic online. Todd was acting on the show and they introduced his character in the comic. The two decide to form an unholy alliance and create their own original property together.

My compatriot Sam and I just stared a webcomic: Walking on Broken Glass. We've been working hard on it all summer, and planning the story for years. To quote the site:

Today starts Year Three for Locus, which I originally promoted with the phrase "Boobs, Blood and Bad Language". It's gone its own direction since then, but it still has plenty of The Three B's.

It's not porn. It's not even "adult", really. It's the product of a childhood spent reading Heavy Metal Magazines from the early 80s, Doctor Strange comics from the late 70s, and EC Reprints. If you dig any of those things, you will dig Locus.

Just thought we would throw our hat into the mix.

Mohagen is a comic that was created by Kennon James and Loren Hoskins. It is currently drawn by Kennon and is written by him and me, John Kipling.

Mohagen is like most goldfish; he's trapped in a two-gallon universe with only an elitist cat and a philosophical piece of aquarium decoration for company, his only window into the outside world is that of 12-year-old boy who routinely torments him, and he is obsessed with delusions of escape and evolution. He is also orange and 'fancy'.

Kennon and I are pretty big nerds so we lampoon everything from D&D to Twilight to Superheroes to football to contemporary memes.

Kennon likes to draw stuff. His work can been seen in movies, comic books, and video games. He was once voted "most likely to do well in prison". He lives in Hutto, TX with his dogs, cats, and fish.

What's shakin'?

My name is Jay Potts and I'm the writer/artist of WORLD OF HURT, which is a love letter to the Blaxploitation movies of the 1970s. However, unlike many works which revisit this unique film movement, it is a serious exploration of Blaxploitation, not a parody or a spoof. WORLD OF HURT follows the adventures of a Isaiah "Pastor" Hurt, a no-nonsense trouble-shooter who offers his services to people in need for the cost of two favors to be named later. The webcomic is also designed as an homage to the classic, B&W newspaper adventure strips of the past, such as Modesty Blaise, Rip Kirby and Secret Agent X-9.

WORLD OF HURT began in April 2009, and has since earned three Glyph Awards, was featured on CNN.com, and Mr. Ellis was kind enough to mention it in one of his Do Anything column last year.

This summer, I completed the first story arc, entitled "The Thrill-Seekers," and just a few weeks ago I began the second arc, which is called "The Black Fist." Incidentally, "The Black Fist" features an original theme song by C.E. Garcia, who performed on the soundtrack of the film, Black Dynamite, and regularly tours as a member of The Black Dynamite Sound Orchestra!

Hello, all! Thanks to Warren for this thread. It's inspiring to see all the different kinds of work on display. Might as well add mine to the list...

Comics From Space! is a silly slice-of-life comic from the future as it was once promised: Big bubble space helmets, spaceships with big red fins, and computer consoles with a hundred little flashing lights that probably don't do anything. We follow the crew of a ship that travels the far reaches of space looking for precious resources to send back to more civilized locations as they try to stave off boredom. Even in the shiny future, work sucks. New comics are posted Monday, Wednesday & Friday. I just celebrated a year online last month.

Although it's usually short stories or single-strip gag comics, I'm currently near the end of a long story about the crew returning to their base of operations that began back in March. I did their first day back as a "day in the life" storyline, which turned out to take a really long time 9 panels a week. Thanks for looking!

Hey guys!

My name is Reg Bautista and I hail from the troubled, tropical Philippines : ) For the most part, Cereal Saturdays is my comics journal. It started out as a journal where I could take a break from the drudgery of the work week and see the brighter side of my then shitty job, shitty pay existence. The Saturday morning pajamas, cold cereal and cartoons trifecta is sacred to me, and I look forward to this time of the week more than anything- hence the name : )

Now, it's mostly where I post funnies about my life, illustration and what-not thoughts. Lately I've been trying to take a stab at fiction rather than my usual autobiographical shtick, but that post is currently still in the works. In the mean time, I hope you guys'll check it out and give my work a shot :)

(*BACKGROUND: The Philippines is currently embroiled in a mad debate over whether or not to pass a Reproductive Health Bill, legalizing contraception. For those who don't know, the Philippines is comprised of at least 80% (backward) Catholics- a chunk of whom belong to the influential, older generation of religious zealotry, who oppose this Bill, and heck, pre-marital sex entirely (NO NOOKIE FOR YOU!). My mother is a part of this opposition.)

Hello all.
So I thought I would throw my 'hat/comic' into the ring. Breathless Ikarus is only a few months old, and updated weekly (mostly) at the moment. I'm piecing a story together slowly, out of time, out of sequence, the series is a puzzle as is much of the imagery. It's based around a young man in a strange house who is feeling a little lonely and reminiscing about past encounters, particularly with a certain girl. But that is certainly not the whole scenario, there is a bigger mystery at work here. It's a prologue to a much longer story that is currently in development. At times witty, at other times a little sad and maudlin. Please enjoy, and I would love to get some comments, as this is a new thing for me.

Funny Shorts is a webcomic that, as Warren said in the start of this thread, is about getting the ideas out. It's also about getting better at art- both the drawing aspect and the storytelling aspect. We started up about 2 months ago and we're really just trying to go go go and get this stuff out.
Bernie Wrightson once said how every artist has 1,000 bad drawings in them and that practice existed to get them out of your system- with this in mind, Funny Shorts is sort of a public showing of that with some funny, we hope, stories.
We post something new every Sunday and hope to increase that eventually. The topics planned for the strip cover all manner of sins but for now we've dealt with Neil Gaiman, Dinosaur Presidents, the movie "Footloose" and uses for brisket on Halloween, among others.

Hey Everybody. Dang, there are some amazing looking comics in this thread... My firefox window is overflowing with tabs, and I'm looking forward to checking them out. My name is James, and I write a weekly webcomic called Something is Killing the Children with my artist buddy Joe.

We just started a few weeks back, with five pages up so far... There's a lot I want to do with these characters and this world, and the series will shift out of the introductory teen angst into some real horror as we work our way through the winter. I hope some of you will join me for the ride.

ATLANTIC GHOST EMPIRE

The year is 1998 and New York is under 80 feet of water. Captain Arthur Gram and the crew of the F. Scott Fitzgerald have come to the city in search of the mythical
Koi of Hungwa, an artifact rumored to be the key to the ultimate weapon, a machine powerful enough to create a tidal wave the size of the Himalayas, or an Earthquake strong enough to leave a crater as big as the Grand Canyon. Captain Gram and his crew must find this weapon before it falls into the wrong hands. However, they are not alone in their quest. Gram’s arch nemesis, the rich and flashy Alexander Grealish has also come to the city, and brought with him a crew of deadly thugs known only as the Yul Brynners. They too are in search of the Koi and will stop at nothing to get it.

The New York City of Atlantic Ghost Empire (A.G.E.) is a dangerous and violent place. The Gallo Clan, once the most powerful family in the city has split into two warring factions. El Gallo and his clan of Hasidic Samurai control ‘Midtown’ while Jimmy Mack and his army of warriors control ‘Downtown.’ Gram must fight his way through a civil war in order to find his prize. And what about the mysterious Squid people who live below the waves and terrorize the citizens of New York? It seems they too have an agenda, one that threatens the life of anyone who dares to stand in their way. If Captain Gram wants to find the Koi and save the world, he has his work cut out for him.

Roachwell is a webcomic written by me with art by Iain Laurie. It's sort of a surreal comedy horror done in an episodic format, and was brought to a viking funeral conclusion a few months ago.

The final strip makes very little sense if you've not read the previous ones. It's pretty experimental, with encrypted dialogue, Gaelic romance and pop-star aggression. Roachwell has been featured in Hive, Yuck! and New British Comics where it was also translated into Polish. Apologies for the format and click-to-embiggen requirement. Hope you like it.

First, a great big hearty thanks to Warren for letting us show our stuff here. Second, I feel almost like I shouldn't get to post, since I'm not the most vocal Whitechapel member. I tend not to have much to add to most discussions, plus I'm kind of shy and I usually forget to check in on threads even when I do post to them. But I'm still going to put my links up, because I have no shame.

Also, I have more than one webcomic on my site, two of them finished and one of them recently started. If I'm breaking some kind of rule by posting multiples or links to completed comics, let me know and I'll edit this down appropriately. Ok, so:

Among the Silver Stars is one of the completed ones. It's 54 pages and features a man who, from the ages of 8-12, was taken to another galaxy by a mysterious group of alien scientists who would age him to maturity, give him superpowers and send him out to adventure on their behalf. After each adventure, he was returned to normal and sent home. The story is about what happened to him once it all stopped and he had to grow up without the one thing that made his life bearable, and what happens once they finally bring him back, years after he'd finally gotten over it. Drawn by Ariel Iacci.

The Twilight of Magic is a completed 8-page comic about the death of the last wizard in an age of high technology and the legacy he leaves behind. Drawn by Ozzie Rodriguez.

Agents of the Round Table is an ongoing new comic that updates in 6-8 page chapters every two months. The first chapter is up now and the next is due some time in December. It features the two agents and their quest through Nazi-occupied America to retrieve the stolen Excalibur, thereby saving the life of the King and preserving Arthur's global Pax Britannia. Also drawn by Ozzie Rodriguez.

Somewhere in the 20th century…
not long after the end of the Great War, those who were capable of hearing it, received a revelation… another Great War was coming. This coming war would push the limits of technology, split the atom to create the power of a small star, and bring together forces more evil than the world has ever known. That this war would happen was man’s fatal destiny, but the outcome of the war and the details of it were not as clear. A weak League of Nations banded together to form a group. A group capable of doing what those countries could not. A group of adventurers, explorers, and scientists from every allied country to search the globe and fight a battle far from the public eye. This group is The 19XX, all the public has been told is that they are fighting for all of the good in humanity to survive the nineteen hundreds and beyond.

Their mission is to track down every powerful relic, every modern and undiscovered weapon, and every magic incantation ever uttered on the earth’s crust, because the forces of evil responsible for the next Great War would be searching for the very same thing. "Division and Rush" by Todd Allen and Scott Beaderstadt

I _just_ finished moving this off the Chicago Tribune Media Group's ChicagoNow site, so I guess you could say I went independent. Division and Rush is dark satire of crime and pop culture with the detective strip as a vehicle. We were posting blocks of strips as chapters, but as of this week, there will be a new strip up M-F. The current arc is a satire of Oprah Winfrey's extremely public departure from Chicago. Two strips from the "Dr. Od" (read: Dr. Oz) sequence follow.

GratNin: Loan Sharks

Wow... that's allot of comics! and now, because you demand it, ANOTHER ONE!!! In stunning Black and White!!! ...and a bizarre format to confound your reading comfort!
GratNin: Loan Sharks is the latest incarnation of the GratNin (Gratuitous Ninja) story that I have been telling since I was studying at Pratt back in '99!
The story follows a couple of part time, broke-ass ninja as they set out to get lunch and get accosted by a group of loan collectors... or at least that's who the would be collectors say they are.

Well, in this city, loan collectors come for your money or your life so violent hijinks ensue.

I took a sabbatical right before a big fight scene cause I'm a jerk like that. But GratNin will be back next Thurs and will continue weekly until I wrap up this story arch. So if you haven't read it yet, what are you waiting for, it's FREE DAMMIT! More on 11/11!!!

Hi! I found this thread by happy accident, and I'm glad I'm not too late to participate.

My partner, Isabelle Melançon, and I launched Namesake in early October. It is the story of Emma Crewe, a woman who discovers she can visit other worlds. She finds out that these are places she already knows – fantasy and fairy lands made famous through the spoken word, literature and cinema. Her power as a Namesake forces her to act as a protagonist in these familiar stories as she figures out how to get home. We do a mix of both color and black and white pages, and it's gotten a pretty good reaction thus far.

This is "...of Dark Matter and the Perpetual Motion Machine" by Joe Bleak. It's part of the Nanographicmo Graphic Novel challenge. The challenge is to create a 48 page comic w/ cover starting 12am Nov 1 and ending 12am Dec 1. I was a little behind, so I did these pages yesterday. Will post more work as it's completed.

Little late to the party on this one...but...

I write a comic called Spy6teen, which was a former Zuda contestant that we decided to relaunch under our own power-- particularly in light of the fact that Zuda no longer exists.

It's a fairly mainstream/pop comic about a high school girl who moonlights as a super-spy. Tonally, it's a bit of a love letter to the early 2000's comics that got me back into reading: Ultimate Spider-man, Invincible, and Warren's work on Planetary/Authority-- (although, I consider us an "all-ages" book, so not quite as violent as The Authority...)

We're only 16 pages in thus far, but we're formatted as a print comic-- so, 6 weeks from wrapping our first issue. I'll be looking at wrapping 'er up into a fancy "digital comic" once we're done.

I think we're one of the few "full team" webcomics around-- with (in my opinion) a really solid creative team. Our artist is a fellow from Hawaii named DJ Keawekane , who has done some indie work for a comic called Pono Loa. We're colored by Lisa Moore, who flats for Marvel, and lettered by Brant Fowler of Comic Related fame...(ok, maybe not fame...)-- Rounding out our cast is DJ Kirkbride, who was one of the editors for Image's Popgun anthology.

Oh, and I'm the guy that runs the Comic Book Script Archive...so, even if you hate the writing, at least you know my scripts are formatted nicely.

We're all honestly having a blast making this comic-- I hope that enjoyment shows in the reading!

Hello fellow procrastinators,

I present to you a webcomic with...

A dry, ironic, urban sophisticate; a cheery and spacey party-girl; a child prodigy no more than ten... and they're the bad guys. Villainy follows their exploits as they battle superheroes, mingle with high society...

...and try to do it all without disappointing their superiors.

It's penned by my good friend R. Lex Eaton, and I (Amy Bernstein) illustrate it. The comic hasn't debuted yet, as we're still building our buffer, but we're expected to have it up and on a once-a-week update schedule before the end of the month at http://excelcomics.net/villainy/ . I recommend keeping an eye on the Twitter, as updates and progress will be announced there.

HEAT: The Space Age of Pro Wrestling follows rookie grappler Dick the Bastard as he learns the ropes from embittered former Galactic Champion, Mad Doc Crockett. Wrestling's status as the most popular bloodsport in the 31st century has turned the prison system into a factory designed to pump out new talent, and if Dick the Bastard wants to get himself out of the slammer and into the big leagues, he and Doc are going to have to crack a lot of skulls.

Vaguely interesting side note: I changed the size and resolution of the strips around page 70 and haven't gotten around to resizing most of the old stuff yet, which is why #55 is noticeably larger than #81. EXCITING STUFF.

HEAT 55: Special Man-Pain, in which Dick the Bastard and Ron "The Con" Gould battle Los Gordinflones Negros in tag team action.

HEAT 81: (Un)Lucky 13, in which Dick the Bastard, adopting the gimmick of Richard the Lionheart, makes his first appearance in Galactic Wrestling

Life Ain't No Pony Farm is the name of my little webcomic.

It's a semi- autobiographical, but absurd comic strip about a cartoonist living together with an elephant, a mushroom and a pony.
I'm updating Mondays&Thursdays in English&German. Right now, there are some very cool guest strips.
