Haha, yes. I'm surprised how pop-y and dance floor-y "planetary GO" sounds. It's surprising, i guess. Reminds me of the first time I heard NIN's "God Given." You would probably not expect THAT kind of song to come out of THAT kind of band.
I liked some of the Black Parade, but ultimately it was far too angsty and mared by a drive to reject the fact that they're obviously a pop band in everything but make-up (seriously, the parodic Blood is probably the best song on that album), so I'm pretty excited about Killjoys being nothing but an enourmous declaration of Pop. I haven't heard the entire album yet, so I reserve judgment until then. The marketing flat out got to me though, so I preordered the edition with the raygun (which is sadly delayed).
Have been gorging on 70's synth prog and soundtrack albums today....
Keith Emmerson - Nighthawks OST Geinoh Yamashirogumi - Akira OST Alain Goraguer - La Planète Sauvage OST Delia Derbyshire & Brian Hodgson - The Legend of Hell House Libra - Schock OST VA - The Limits Of Control (OST) John Murphy and Underworld - Sunshine (OST) VA - The Warriors OST
And while i'm not a massive Vangelis aficonado, i am REALLY liking this track....
Orange Goblin - The Big Black Fu Manchu - King of the Road Zeke - Flat Tracker, Kicked in the Teeth, Death Alley Kylesa - Spiral Shadow White Zombie - Astro-Creep 2000
All stuff that makes me want to drive really fast.
@infomancer I'm really digging the new Kylesa stuff too. If I could drive, it'd be fast. Purchased the Social Network score today. It's very good indeed. Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross instrumental goodness, basically Ghosts V.
SCHOLASTIC DETH-final examiner discography (every song by this fast fast fast band full of grad students. lyrics range from ultra serious deconstruction of political schisms in the first world war, to laughing at out of work dot commers while you skate in their shuttered office parks) (there is a video on there of their second to last show ever, which i am for a brief moment whil kids pile on to the stage, amps and each other) here is the link, it is out of print and they broke up so i dont feel bad...FINAL EXAMINER
