This one's a watercolour from a series of illustrations I just did for a documentary. Don't know if this is of interest, but here's some process of me trying to figure out some comic pages. There's chaos, some thumbnails, lots of tiny notes and I clearly got sidetracked with a girly drawing. She has nothing to do with the story.

I'm guessing some of you are like me, and you're much more fascinated by the process than the final? below, sketches for this week's remake/remodel submission. clockwise from top left: Jeff explaining something with segmented crops of alien backgrounds. Felt too much like an Invincible trade cover and the atom-age electron/planet orbits seemed easy / three panel strips = wide book. Deluxe hardcover anthology with exposed bookcloth and debossed applique images like Fantagraphics might publish? Alien tentacle bits emergine from corners / line up of alien figures above home planet-to-scale chart, Jeff Hawke under Earth, but @Art Grafunkle did it better / aliens around a floating conference table, Jeff Hawke's back to reader, puny by comparison / lettering, notches dropped / too many ideas at once, illegible / brush pen pre .psd clean up / aged Jeff Hawke, retired warhorse turned diplomat with floating prosthesis.
First image is for a wine label I'm designing, to slap on some bottles at a local vineyard, to give to some family for the holidays. Second is the under-drawing for a personal project I'm working on.
