My best friend was a Green Beret in the US army and he got to meet that guy a couple years ago at some demonstration. He told me about it and I got all geeked out and showed him this video.

How great would it be if they combined these technologies?
We then went on a crazy tangent search for what seemed like isolated technologies, and we'd imagine them combined with another. [pseudoscience is fun!]
For example, on TED we'd see lasers made into moving 3D holograms from a group of scientists at a university in Japan or something and then we would find an American who designed a phone that is a light projector that reacts to your motion. So you press at the numbers on a wall, or on your palm, or whatever surface it is projected upon and the device knows what your doing.
Now with those two ideas combined, Can't they make holographic porn that reacts to touch with an IA? All they gotta do is discuss the ideas, crunch some numbers and get a crazy rich guy to fund it, right?
Holodeck, here we come! [literally]
In all seriousness It is awesome to see yesterdays sci-fi become today and tomorrow's reality.
