Sobreiro, your entry is simply fantastic.

Nice one Sobreiro. I say this because I went minimalist myself.

Excellent first effort Paul Duffield, but I'd guess no one here would be surprised that it was.

    Anyway here's my effort...

Paul Duffield: Amazing. Love the sly spider leg drawings put over the photo. Cool technique...

This thread is seriously fucking with my arachnophobia. Attempting to create a submission is only making it WORSE. Spider anatomy google search = NEVER SLEEP AGAIN.

Amazing submissions from everyone so far! Can't wait to see what's still in the pipe!

Hey, here's mine, starring Crispin Glover since he did such a fine job working with bugs in "Wild at Heart."

It also works upside down, in case you're hanging from the ceiling by a web.

@Eric Crispin is a brilliant choice. Very under rated as an actor. I like the upside down take.

Every week one of these pops up I have to explain to at least one client why their illustration is late.

@ericmilkin: That is some damn fantastic lettering! The upside-down take is brilliant.

    @FredG: That looks downright professional!

The Cure was playing when I read the challenge. Blame Robert Smith.

I think this is a musical, considering that both David Bowie and Aimee Mann are better known as singers than they are as actors.

Also. It's an alternate world, is it? Well then: BRANDON LEE NEVER DIED.

Goddammit. I took all these Lynchy self portraits to use, but it seems the most true-to-Lynch version that my poster design keeps regressing to is far far more simple. You may be seeing a number of images with bold eyebrows and red lips popping up on the SPIT.

@FredG - and somehow, simple as it is, your wonderful poster makes me think Cronenberg.

For those wanting references, this site has quite a lot of his posters. I've been flipping through it most of the day and think I've come up with an idea. Just need to purchase/borrow ONE thing...

Marvel readers were horrified by Dennis Hopper's drugged-up interpretation of Spidey and many posters were ripped and burnt, hence the difficulty in finding decent copies of the poster:

@ oldhat- Thank you! But... ARGH! That site has none of the Inland Empire? I think that film has some of the best graphic design of any of the films.

    Hi there

    David Lynch's Spider-Man

I've tried to make it more film-like and different from a former one, which would have been too Cronenberg-style.
