Like Simon Reynolds said, it's been a very strong end to the year for Hauntological releases. I especially loved DD Denham and Pye Corner Audio Transcription Services. Alas haven't managed to get holf of a copy of the new moon wiring club (i'd prefer an Mp3 download as opposed to a CD copy, but i'll take what i can get).
But no Demdike stare though? Perhaps not English enough....
VHS Head was indeed an excellent release. Lots of good stuff actually. Personally I think both oOoOO and SALEM's are at the top of my list (but they're non UK) together with Darkstar's North, more Rustie and Terror Danjah's first longplayer.
I really liked the Moon Wiring Club / Belbury Poly Study 7" , particularly " The Young People".
I'd like to give a a shout out for Position Normal's recent self-titled album , which you can order on cassette ( with free mp3 version thrown in ) here. Definitely should be added to the Confusing English Electronic Music canon.
Also out in time for Christmas , Mordant Music's fabulous rescoring of vintage public information films in association with the BFI. Fabulous. He's another veteran of the Outer Church in Brighton. Did we mention that Position Normal's playing this month ? Ok then.
