Yeah, great album. My favourite is still IN THE KINGDOM OF KITSCH YOU WILL BE A MONSTER, though.

    Right now:

    Kronos Quartet - Early Music

Hugh Masekela - The Boy's Doin' It

    Recent discoveries:

Simian Mobile Disco - Delicasies. The maximalist house/electro vibe has morphed into nervous, skittery techno. Hypnotic and oppressive.
Sunken Foal - Fallen arches. Piano, (occasianally out-of-tune) guitar, tapes, electronics. Quiet, lush and melancholy. (I think @allana might well dig?)
Thee Oh Sees - The Master's Bedroom Is Worth Spending a Night In. Psychedelic garage rock. It's... rambunctious!

The new Kanye West has me going what. the. fuck? This is HARSH. I mean, my first association is Marvin's "Here, My Dear".

Good call Infomancer. I too just dug up Tom Waits' 'Bone Machine' and am having a cheeky smoke. Anything to drown out the bleedin' X Factor final that my wife insists on watching. I love her but... keeerist alive.

I just heard She & Him on Conan the other night perform "I put a Spell on You," I didn't know Zooey Deschanel could belt it out like that. Is the rest of their stuff that good?

(at work, unable to check them out until I get home)

Sending waves in the left field side of Hip Hop
    is Homeboy Sandman.

    Me like!

Home boy Sandman - "Strange Planet"

he also thinks that Black Thought from The Roots is
one of the great Hip Hop MCs. In my books he's in the top
ten of all time. So we can get along if we meet!....

Homeboy sandman raps along to Black Thought.
    How he learned to rap....
