i like front line assembly's side project delerium, at least before they got the girl from the rose chronicles to make it sound like mildly more hardcore enya
anyway, i am listening lately to:
blue angel lounge - narcotica heroin and your veins - nausea for which, here
from another album but a better viddie.
also lots of deadbolt, which i'll try to make work here
By the way, one of the best examples of drug-fuelled beat-driven electronica ever. Fond memories of sweaty nights at the Electric Ballroom with towering cyber-goth amazon women, rivers of beer and mountains of weed.
right now i'm listening to the video Rachel posted to Tumblr.
um, but this week i've been sitting in silence mostly. there's a blizzard and i think i have at least one bird and one squirrel living in my roof. not together. i hope. i did crank some Sigue Sigue Sputnik last night. it's good Tetris-playing music. (if you're sick of the actual Tetris music. which i am.)
It's probably a cliche to say that someone's music changed your life, but he redefined my very idea of music and became a reference point for everything else I listened to afterwards (and he was a cool painter, too).
@antistigma I like Tokimonsta - Questing it's good sledding music! I was listening to Shigeto - Relentless Drag (Mike Slott Remix) when I ran into a tree with my sled. It was the perfect song as I lay there dazed and out of breath. @icelandbob Shackleton - Bastard Spirit is great. That bass line! @taphead Thee Oh Sees are fun. I fell in love with them after hearing the track Grease 2 in a mix from a mixtape thread on this forum! I really like the song We Are Free too.
Big Boi - You Ain't No DJ ft. Yelawolf. Needs an instrumental version. The vocals aren't the worst thing, but I just want to hear the beat.
Lissie - Little Lovin'. especially the second half with the huge distorted reverb'd out guitar and yay for hand claps! I get a strong craving to listen to Neko Case - Deep Red Bells by afterwards though. Thanks Justified TV promos.
Push Button Objects - Non-Existant (Keyed in by Gescom). I haven't heard this in 10 years at least. I used to listen to a tape of it on the bus ride home from school over and over. The tape ran out before the dj listed the tracks she played and after I lost the tape I thought I'd never hear it again. The rhythms still make my brain go super stupid.
The Snivelling Shits - Bring Me the Head of Yukio Mishima. Catchy punk rock. I guess naming the band The Snivelling Shits may have somewhat hurt their chances of having a hit song. If I had more motivation I'd attempt a mash up with Smile.dk - Butterfly.
Melanie Safka - Lay Down. I dunno what went so wrong with my life that I missed out on this up til now. I had it on repeat most of monday. Seven plus minutes, but I wish it was longer. It really gets going about 3 minutes in and by the time the double time hand claps start I'm tripping hard.
New Order - Touched By The Hand Of God. Another one I don't know how I missed out on. Nothing to say other than that the video for the song is ridiculous.
Valet - Kehaar. I just heard the Blood is Clean album a few days ago, it's good stuff. This person's youtube channel is going to be awesome to explore, I think. Roy Montgomery - Departing the Body. Yes! The first song I listen to on their channel and it's glorious! Who is this Roy Montgomery? From New Zealand?! Why does so much music I like come out of New Zealand?
