@Coop - I actually believe I lived in your complex, but a different building, for all of last year! I was in the Connell Building right on that corner. The floors of my place were identical to the ones in your photos, but the windows were a bit different.
I don't think I ever ran into you there...
Now I'm down near Little Tokyo, at 2nd and San Pedro.
Your photo contains my favorite late night hang out - the only coffee shop I know of in all of downtown that is open 24hrs, if you exclude Ihop, which you must.
@256: Probably post production. I fussed around with levels and the history brush to get the reflection to be decent and keep the "face" on the moon. I would have needed to use a tripod, telephoto lens and multiple exposures to get it sharp. Or better photoshop skills.
Haven't put much things into this threat for a while and hence the winter is coming to an end here are a few "wintery" pics ... anyway, my photographies just interested two galleries ... happy, but I gotta give it some thoughts, I don't think my work is sufficiently contained and still goes in way too many directions, and yes, I should buy a better material ... any advices welcomed.
Say, anyone here have any experience in using an Argus "brick" camera? I was thinking of picking one up but I wanted to get the views of some users before dropping my coin on it.
@William, I have one of them in my collection. I've only run one roll through it. The rangefinder on it is pretty tiny, but isn't difficult to focus with. Film advance is a little weird, you have to hold a button down, then start to wind, then let the button up and wind until it stops.
@Kuru, thanks for the heads up about Impossible film - I have a couple of old SX70 cameras I'd love to get using again. Funny, I was going through my drawer of SX70 work yesterday afternoon, thinking wouldn't it be great if someone were to start making that film again! Will post images to this thread in a few days when the work madness eases.
@kay the current impossible films are pretty experimental, but fun to use (if a bit expensive). Hopefully they'll get the stability problems fixed soon, but they're re-inventing the film technology from scratch.
Finally getting around to scanning some of my film from last year. Great Wall DF-1:
i have been shooting a bunch of lightstream stuff again recently. mostly because i have been doing a lot of long exposure tunnel stuff and cars keep insisting on driving thru my shots. this was the muni bus 30 stockton heading out of the stockton tunnel into chinatown in sf.
