@kevin...thanks, that's something for me to look into. I also have Brushes and it never seems to give me problems like sbpro and also allows for scalability with resolutions.

This goes without saying, but there's a whole lot of really great stuff on here. I have nothing to contribute except to say good job, everyone.

@mojo - i haven't tried brushes, but i hear good things. I'm an avid supporter of Skbookpro's desktop app, it's a staple of my work-flow, but the iPad app is a lot less stable and useable than I would have thought, especially since the desktop app *is* so great.

Something that started off as a doodle while I was sitting in the laundromat. It was that or watch clothes swirl around and around and around...

How do you do those wet paper black inky backgrounds rooth? Do you just do them first or is there other trickery involved to stop them bleeding on to the character?

Anyway while I'm here, a Sad Boy:

@Amalgamated - Haha! Saw your Sad Boy on twitter yesterday! he's great!
When I'm doing these ink wash drawings I usually do the backgrounds first, working wet on wet: I get the pencil sketch how I like it I then carefully brush clean water into the areas around the figure (usually a few times to keep it wet, since the paper is very thirsty) with a No.6 brush.
Then I work into the wet area with pure ink, and since the ink will only move around and fill the areas that are already wet, I don't have to worry about it bleeding into the character or other elements (as long as I'm not too sloppy) , and I can have some fun moving it around and boosting the blacks an letting it do it's swirly ink thing... I have to work fast though, and I always work with two water jars with me- a clean one, and a dirty one - so that I can rinse the bulk of the ink out of my brush in the dirty one, then a quick rinse into the clean one so that I can attack the wet black on the page with a 'clean' brush and soften up the edges or work tightly into the edges of the figure.

Ipad artists: is it worthwhile to track down a stylus of some sort? I've been using SBP with mixed success using fingers. Now that there seem to be a fair few people using it for art here, I am curious to hear opinions on the matter.

I give you The Shaggy Duck, a different 'odd animal' illustration, similar to my Abdominal Snowman a couple pages back. Enjoy!

@Rooth: VERY nice update of the classic Ghost outfit...really a much nicer variant than the current low-grade sci-fi version.

I absolutely love coming here to look at this thread - amazing work everyone

@Berseker - that's ace, you thinking of colouring it at all?
  7.  (9364.11)
@chainsaw - I didn't even bother trying to draw on the iPad until I got a stylus. If stylus' didn't exist, sure, but why bother with the frustration?

I rec' a boxwave or a pogo. They're both very different, so if you have a way to try them out to see which you like better, do so. Most people I know like the boxwave better. I have both because I like both.

@berserker - Very nice sense of depth.

    @rooth - You're a monster. Great stuff.

I may sound ignorant here, but Rooth, tn perkins & Kevin Mellon, what comics are you "known" for? I don't recognize the names, but feel like I'm missing out on some fabulously illustrated comics just from looking at the examples shown here.

Love your guys stuff shown in this thread.

I got some new art supplies for my b-day, and started the experiments. Happy to report the Krink markers are fabulous, stinky, and cover ground really well on the cardboard. The paint markers are a little translucent, but the wedges are just as I wanted.

@ Inkinmyfingernails - Thank you! Actually, I've been debating about what to do with it, if anything, myself... I might try something a little graphic, more like a poster than a straight image.

@ kevimellon - Thanks! I was really happy with how what is more or less single-point perspective worked for this - it gave it a nice 'tunnel' quality, juxtaposed in front of a relatively 'flat' background., which I think gave it even more depth.

    @Paul:

Don't feel bad for not being aware, I haven't done much that's gotten recognized. Hoping that will change this year.

Gearhead - (arcana) w/ Dennis Hopless
Thirteen Steps - w/Phil Hester (desperado)
    Hack/Slash - 18-20 (Devil's Due) w/ Tim Seeley
Hack/Slash - Trailers 2 "Blood On The Dance Floor" (Image)
The Devil Wears Prada: ZOMBIE (Warner Music Group)
I was also in the Tori Amos antho and the Spearmint/Shirley Lee antho.
I've done some other things, but those are the "bigger" ones.

    Upcoming:

Deadline OGN (Kickstart Ent) w/ B. Clay Moore & Seth Peck
LoveStruck OGN (AiT/PlanetLar) w/ Dennis Hopeless
Suicide Sisters mini-series (Ape Ent) - story/art by me.

Those last 3 are what I've been working on over the last 2 years. They'll all drop this year. I've got a bunch of work lined up for this year that should also come out this year. 2011 is going to seem like I did way more than humanly possible because of it.

@chainsaw.serenade...definitely need a stylus for the precision...try a Pogo stick make a DIY one.
@kevin...just started using desktop ver of SBP and I'm enjoying it though I wish it had more keyboard shortcuts.
@Rooth..nice ink wash and solid figure.
@Berserker...lovely sketch, time well spent waiting for you laundry.

@mojo - that's something you either get used to or don't. It's made so that you use the "lagoon" for most things. The new version, which I assume you're using, has a new toolbar in addition to the lagoon and the brush size adjuster. I use a cintiq now, but still loved SKBpro when I was using a bamboo tablet. YMMV.
