The best way to start these things is to get everyone saying hello. So please introduce yourselves in this thread, adding a photo if you've got one (trust me -- the web works much better when people see that there are real people on the other end of a post).

Obviously, if you've said hello in previous Introduction threads, there's no need to do it again.

We don't insist on real names here. I find it helps, but, frankly, if you want to be a completely fictional invention of yourself, go right ahead. Hell, I've even known people who have started out fictional and then become their own invention.

I fell onto Whitechapel from Twitter, I find that happens quite a lot these days. I wonder how I found things on the web before?

I take photos, I read and I am a computer guy. I enjoy the reading and photo parts of my life. The computer stuff is useful.

I am jealous of those that can draw. I can doodle. *sigh*

I was a student of many things over the years. I have done Film Studies, Photography, Software Engineering, Philosophy, Shakespeare.
I mention these not to brag but these are the things that interested me at one time or another. Well apart from the Software Engineering.

I stopped all the endless studying when I got married and rescued some cats.
I am Malky, I have two cats and I live in Scotland.

In my spare time I draw Comics, and I stalk Warren on twitter, though he has yet to pay attention to my threatening tweets and angry ninja rants about his deliciously hairy legs. I'm Pix. I make comics when I can be arsed and/or afford it. I write a bit, but mostly draw, which is why I haven't migrated to a medium anyone gives a damn about.

You may have seen my Burke & Hare graphic novel, or at least news reports about the collapse of the publisher thereof. I also draw a strip about a dope-smoking alien for WASTED magazine (which in Glasgow counts as whoring myself to the mainstream. No, really). Other projects are bubbling away in the background, waiting for me to give them more attention than I could muster in 2010.

Hi, I'm Anthony. I'm an illustrator & web designer, and currently do the latter for Rogers, the media conglomerate here in Canada.

I just had a book come out in both english and Inuktitut, the language of the Inuit people. It's called "Tales of the Tundra". I only illustrated it.

Also, did the cover for a kids magazine called ChickaDee this month. Busy month!

My name is Joe and I am currently attending college in the hopes of becoming a librarian. I am a huge sci-fi/comic nerd and a believer in transhumanism. When I was 15 I was diagnosed with aspergers syndrome which would actually explain my social life (or lack there of) quite well.

I have been a big fan of yours for a while (Transmetropolitan was pure genius!) and enjoy your caustic remarks on politics because I often feel gyped by the world. Its not that I wish we had dragons and zombie invasions and the liek (although it would be nice) but rather that we could have done so much more. We are boged down in mediocrity and you are able to voice my own frustrasions much more eliquently than I.

That's why I want to be a librarian: to get kids reading and show them just how much is really out there if only they look for it!

(also, I'm not including a picture of myself as I am still struggling to catch up to all of the tech, which is addmitedly an ironic statment coming from someone who wished that he could download his mind into an imortal robot body and travel the stars at will).

i just have to say i'm addicted...again...happened the same when i got my first book of transmetropolitan...had to buy them all (was broke for some time:P) and read them insanely...happened just the same with freakangels..This time i gotta really thank it's free:))..THANKS!!!
I really like the feel and looks of this comic and will find it difficult to have to wait an entire week to get more.
I live in Madrid, studied law but hate most of what lawyers do (exept the arguing bit..)...so i spend my time painting (big murals:) and taking photos.
Currently hearing Pata negra when happy, Autonervous and Subtonix when angry :P.

Hi, I just spent the (whole) night catching up with the story, and I gotta say you guys are fucking awesome! (I don't usually swear, well, at least in public, but I guess you deserve some honest compliment with no internal or external censorship. :) Really, this is fantastic. As soon as I have some money, which might take a while, I'm vowing to buy the print stuff for myself and some lucky friends. Besides some cool stuff you got there. Way to go!

You've got a new avid reader now, and possibly a few more since I'm starting to babble about FreakAngels asap. :D

Hi I'm Valdo, I've been following the freakangels comic and got myself into the whitechapel forums by accepting Warren's challenge of a Kubrick Iron Man.
(Thanks for announcing it at your website Warren, I would have missed it otherwise)
I do photography and photoshop retouching for a living, a bit of matte painting as an hobby, and obviously I'm a fan of Mr Ellis. Nice to meet you all!

My names Scott, and i live in Southend literally round the corner form Mr Ellis, though I have resisted all urges to stalk quite well!! I've been an avid reader of comics most my life, and follower of 2000AD in particular which is where I must have first come across his work, either in an interview or a strip. Being a fan of Steampunk is what made me first come across FreakAngels, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it since. Right I'm out of words now so I'll leave it at that.

I'm a 46 year old Yank, divorced twice. My father was a comedian, had a TV show in the late 60's with his brother peole seemed to like called The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. Been a musician most of my life, singer mostly. Made a living at it here and there but never with my own stuff, though I did manage to get a few label showcases. I was a porn actor for three years, got a bit of attention because of my family's name, gave it up after it started feeling too much like work. I've been an exterminator since then, the work's steady, it pays well and people leave me alone. I live in Canada now, married a girl here who proceded to transform into a deranged harpy soon after I arrived, but I chose to stay. You couldn't pay me to move back to the States. Been reading comics since I was about 8 and Ellis is not only one of the best who's ever been, but one of my favorites. There you go, more than you could ever possibly wish to know about someone you will likely never meet. (How the fuck do you attach a fucking photo?)

I have enjoyed Warren's work since 2006 when i read Transmetropolitan, which meant a lot to me at that time, because Spider Jerusalem pulled me out from a deep hole i was in. Respect forever there.. :) Things have gotten better since, i'm trying to put together my art and some stories together, because art is my life.. especially comic books, but i enjoy many other things, like books, science, history. But most of all - crazy, incredible, amazing ideas.. Warren and others here unleash many of them upon the world, so i'm happy to be here..

@ people with missing photos—

It's important that you copy the image url, not the url of the page the image appears on. You can get this by right-clicking (or control-clicking on a mac) on the image and selecting "Copy Image URL." In Flickr you have to be on the page that shows you all the different image size options, NOT the regular page for the photo.

Then use the img button in the style and formatting menu and that's the URL you should enter when it prompts you to.

By trade I'm and IT manager, but that's just the way the water flows for the time-being. I'm an illustrator committed firmly to the dying arts of pen and ink. I do album covers for techno records, mostly, these days.

I also grew up reading comics in the ghost city of Detroit, but grew wings at some point and flew across the Atlantic and am currently living in Brussels, Belgium. I really fell in love with the comic scene here when I arrived (totally different fare to what I was used to stateside).

Me? I go by the name kingmonkey. That's probably not my real name, though I have gotten birthday cards from my wife and friends addressed as such so, maybe... I like to hang out on the internet reading Realy Important Stuff like changes to superheroes costumes, or who could beat whom in a fight, or the like. I like to wite. I wish I could draw/paint/art with the skill of some folks I've seen here.

I don't have a picture handy. Let's see: skinny white guy, mid-thirties-- picture that and it's me exactly. I live in the Canada, so you can probably picture me with a warm hat and it'll be accurate most of the year.

hi that's me, i live in alaska [as shown in photo] if you are obsessed with seeing my face can add me on facebook or something they're are Alot of ridiculous pictures of me as tagged by others there.
i found this website on the freakangels page.
After spending the better part of a day catching up completely and ordering an embarrassing amount of junk
from comiccavalcade, i decided to throw in my lot with you all.

I'm John-with-an-aitch-god-dammit. Engineering student, Vancouver (Winter Olympics last year), BC, Canada.
Born in Nottingham, moved to Canada at one. I've got two birthdays thanks to our friends the time zones, so I'm well-equipped for dodging the draft [if/when] [it comes/America annexes Canada and imposes it].
FreakAngels was a sure thing for me the moment that I saw a steam-powered helicopter, and was sure-er when I realized how much the entire thing rocked.
I have a sneaking suspicion that I got here from Bad Machinery, although I've got no idea how.
Transmetropolitan is the only other Warren Ellis production that I've consciously read. I'm a small-time comic-book nerd, so I've probably read other stuff without knowing it.
When I have a proper photo of myself, I'll post it.
Pleased as anything to be here. Mmmm...speculation about plotlines...

Hi,I'm Stuart and I'm currently trapped in what my mother affectionately calls her spare room.

I studied History with Film Studies at the University of Essex and as a result am totally unemployable in what some people would call the real world, but I call the zoo of tortured souls. I've always liked art, got an A in GCSE graphic design but a D in art... some people just don't get originality when it smacks them in the face with large stick. Then kind of went off it for a while and got interested in film.

I write scripts in my spare time, or just time really, or I occassionally do some camerawork on my friends poetry videos. I take pictures of stuff, I doodle, I don't like colour.

Love films, comics, books, and anything that relieves the tedium of life for a single moment.

I've been using pablohunny as my handle for so long I sometimes don't realise people are talking to me online when I'm addressed by my real name (Alicia). I'm absent minded with people, names and faces, addicted to harvesting facts (accurate or otherwise) and have a creative streak inversely proportional to my attention span.

Fortunately, I work in e-learning, where everything is written down several times and I get to think outside the box often enough to keep me enthusiastic.

Hey there. Name's Terance. I've been lurking here for quite some time without ever actually joining...no idea why. Anyway, I'm glad to be a part of the community now, etc. etc. I've only really been into comics for about a year and a half. Bought a few comics here and there when I was a little kid, but I didn't really get it back then. One day I happened upon a book called Orbiter ("What?! They're not all about superheroes??" I thought); been addicted to comics ever since, and I love Warren's work.

Um, let's see...I live down in Texas, I like to write...comics and the like. Can't draw to save my life, unfortunately. That's 'bout it, I reckon.

Glad to have finally joined and I expect to be spending a lot more time here now. And actually posting.

Hullo,

I'm Jim Unwin, an arty type living in Guildford, just south of London. I've been been lurking around Whitechapel for a while (having found the site via Project Rooftop), but thought I should finally man up and post something.

Nine to five I work for a games studio, we've just released LittleBigPlanet2 for the PS3, which is kind of exciting (it only took us three years!). When I'm not nerding out about human/machine interfaces I draw a lot. I've long since abandoned the idea of turning my illustration into a career, and instead do it almost entirely for my own amusement. I guess I should post something in one of the art threads.

Finally, I've just become a dad, so apologies in advance for talking about my daughter all the time. But, I mean, come on...

I'm using a library computer because the family desktop broke down last year. So...
