    Do you think that UK and Ireland are currently able to provide now and in the future as much clever writers for the comics medium that it did dis the past 30 years ? (Moore, Gaiman, Morrison, yourself, Millar, Robinson, Carey, Barker, Byrne, Ennis and so on...)
    Have you read some guy's work that made you think that the level isn't going down with the new UK's fellows nowadays ?

    Do you consider that yourself and your listed colleagues are part of a golden age of UK's comics storytelling ?

    Hi Warren,

    I was gonna ask what happened to the 'Autumn Interrogation' thread. As always massive props to you for doing this. For someone who spends a large amount of time and money (which I really don't have) tracking down things like Lazarus or the Hellstorm run and then getting you to sign this stuff at conventions, it is so gratifying (and inspiring) to have this level of interaction with your fans and people interested in your work. I really mean this.

    Right, ass kissing over..down to business.

    Do you believe in aliens? I mean have they / are they visiting earth? Is there a cover-up? I have been tracking alternative news sites for about two years now and the more information I read about this from reliable sources (astronauts, nuclear physicists, aeronautics engineers, Intelligence/military personnel etc.) the more it really seems like their is some conspiracy afoot. Not to mention the obvious mathematical probabilities of infinite space/time, references to aliens in ancient texts etc. and the last 12 months have seen some really strange UFO occurrences (China airport) and scientific reports from sources like the Royal society and Stephen Hawking on this subject. Personally I don't believe in coincidences, but when I read your work it really fluctuates between incredible speculation / imaginative scope and the scientific logic of down-to-earth realism. Am I making sense here?!? Just trying to get a grasp on your personal beliefs.

    The only other thing -I did ask last time and you didn't answer so I either you didn't read it or you thought it too personal to state here, but if the latter is the case tell me and I'll shut the fuck up)- is what does your g/f did for a living? (I am just genuinely curious).

    Sorry for the long post but I haven't made my presence known for a while..

    In the classical UFO-sightings sense? No.

    Obviously there is life elsewhere in the universe. No, I don't believe intelligent exoplanetary life has visited Earth.

    The worse the allergy attack is, the more chance there is of my immune system being depressed enough to catch whatever bug's going around. In this case, a chest infection.

    From one allergy-sufferer to another (mine were so bad I had to get allergy shots for years to build up my tolerance), I sympathize. Hay fever season would happen and I'd always get secondary illnesses.

    Hi Warren,

    When you published SHIVERING SANDS, did you use publisher grade or standard paper? I ask because I'm working on a project that I think I'm going to use Lulu for. I'd like to use standard because it's cheaper, but I don't want it to feel and look like shit. I'm not really sure what the difference is, but I'm guessing it's more noticeable with color books than B&W. Fair assumption?

    Standard (60# / 90gsm white text stock). I don't believe the economy paper (50# / 75gsm white text stock) was available for the size we wanted.

    I just read your post about Santa Muerte... I find shrines to the Saint of Death all of the time when I'm performing cell searches... if you want, the next time I find one I can send you a picture of a prisoner's St. Death shrine. Interested?

    EDit: If that sounded wierd... totally not intended. My girlfriend and I recently became interested in the concept of Santa Muerte last year after I found my first shrine, and then after seeing them depicted on Breaking Bad. Every one I find is unique, and littered with all sorts of offerings. I usually find them in the possession of "paisas" which are a relatively new gang of non-gang member illegal immigrants from Mexico. There isn't a lot of info out there about the "paisas", or their relatively new saint. They also seem to worship Jesus Malverde the "narco-saint" which I find really odd.

    Are you there, God? Its me, Alan.

    So, you've worked in a pretty wide swathe of media and formats, more so than most writers that I know of. You've done comics with a huge variation in length and scope, you've written a novel and plenty of flash fiction, you do magazine columns, you've done TV (referring to the sadly never-produced Global Frequency TV show), and you're closely interested in photography and music. I'm probably missing a few here.

    So this leads me to my actual question: What does a Warren Ellis-penned live theatre production look like? Not asking would you do one, or why haven't you done one, just if you did, what would you do with it?

    Loads. Gillen, Spurrier, McKelvie, and I'm forgetting loads due to having a head full of snot and medicine...

    Me? No. The Golden Age, if you like, was the first contact of Moore, Delano, Milligan, Morrison, Gaiman, Mills, Wagner etc with American publishing.

    I'd respectfully disagree with that. I'd say the golden age began with Moore and ended with you. Or maybe Ennis. Can't remember which of you got started first and I'm too lazy to look it up. But, (and with no slight intended to anyone else) I consider the five really significant authors of the age to be Moore, Morrison, Gaiman, you and Ennis. Mostly because you each brought a truly unique to voice to the comic world. (I am speaking here, of American comics. My familiarity with the British comics world is limited.)
