Raided the thread earlier today intending to paint some of you. Gonna take a bit as I have to work on them piecemeal, but wanted to share a few barebones concept sketches so far. Will post more concepts and finished pieces as time allows.
First is Afua Richardson enforcing proper laboratory protocol.
@kahavi..glad you like..everyone's mondays should start off decent. @Dextra...no worries. @Paul...Space Hustler rocks!!! retro knife-blaster and bling is a plus.
@ Sizer. WOW. Patience is a virtue... IT'S ARRIVED.... the mothership... I've been sizered! It's wicked, thanks!!! I love the detailing and actually had that necklace delivered only last week so I don't know how you got to see it....
mojokingbee: Thank you for your rendition of me! I dig and enjoy how you switched up the perspective. ^_^
And yeah, I have to second the notion that this incarnation is kicking some serious ass. And Dextra makes me wish I could draw so I could do her justice. Same with Argos, the Mad Max Hoopster.
@YOAV: I establish a psychic bond with all who I draw. Hence I know all about you via artist mindlink. For instance; you're not wearing underwear right now, are you? Scary, eh?
@Berserker: I'm glad your wife got some enjoyment out of it, even if I can't draw ;) @everyone else: All your pictures and art are awesome! I wish I was more talented so that I could draw more of you without feeling like I am insulting you
@Ampersand: I'm not the first person to say this on Whitechapel, so consider this coming from all of us: Anyone with the courage to create and then post their art, whatever their own opinion of it, is a winner in this and all the other art threads. There's no way that the skill and time spent creating the likeness of someone would be seen as an insult!
@Ampersand - you're getting there. :) Just keep it up. People are a sonofabitch to draw, and the creators of art tend to be its worse critics. Most of this is because you can see how you think the drawing 'should have been' versus how it turned out. And no matter how good an artist is -- the mind isn't limited in the way a piece of paper is; it doesn't have to 'play by the rules'; so for the most part your mental comparison to what should've/could've been will be skewed. Don't be afraid to take your time, as well.
