I've been going through a femme kick lately. Lots of Bjork, Imogen Heap, Amanda Palmer (both solo and Dolls incarnation),Emilie Autumn, along with the addition of Tori Amos to my music.

And also one of Jason Webley's projects, Little Big Dipper Dipper/Hockey Star.

Been listening to Lifetime's s/t record from 2007 in my truck for the last week. Fucking brilliant.

Sainte Catherines - Those Stars are for You
Refused - Shape of Punk to Come
Off With Their Heads - From the Bottom

Have been listening to the latest Young Pretenders record a lot lately as my roommate is mixing it in our living room.
Saw MC/VL's final show at the 501 Club on Saturday, brilliant mix of Girl Talk style mashups and hilarious early-era Beastie Boys rhymes. Sad to see them go.

Moar Spokes. This band are just incredible - epic indie-rock / math-rock / quiet-loud-quiet business. Their 'Everyone I Ever Met' is my album of 2011 so far.

I'm fine with someone else starting this thread on a Monday, by the way...
  5.  (9400.18)
can we make it a monthly thread like the book one and the around the net one?

    currently absorbed into...
derschlaeger - Blogs (new album from Faust drummer Zappi Diermaier and friends mixing cheesy schaeger music with post industrial sounds. utterly bonkers and strangely wonderful)
Low - Drums and Guns (been out for years but never getting old - check out the session track below - it's sublime)

I've recently been all aflutter about Astronautalis. I think the best description is like a more funky Modest Mouse.

James Blake's debut album is a little too far removed from the dancefloor for my tastes. Bit disappointing, really.

On a Night Slugs trip. Their Allstars Vol. 1 compilation is terrific. Loving the Jacques Greene track particularly.
