I wasn't expecting this to be the 'final' chapter. But it'll be a double length super-chapter, so everything will be fine, right??

Luke does seem to be ... damaged - almost like the adult memory of Luke is being force-filtered through the squishy brains of a newborn. At least he didn't complain about his balls this episode...

Now I have to go back and re-read the last chapter because the last I remember of Sirkka was her wandering off alone, and now she's suddenly there with the gang so I'm not sure if I missed something or not now.

Beautiful illustrations of a ruined pub... We've just had a fire alert at work. I had to walk down 22 flights of stairs so my legs are probably going to hurt tomorrow.

I am having a shit day and need to swear a lot. One of my robots has deleted all the stock records, so I am having to take one of every pack out of the robot and put it back in. I started at A, I have nearly finished D. It's going to be a long day.

one question for Ariana and Warren, and I can't believe no one else has asked already.

Once the story is done, what is going to happen to the website and the forum? I'm not nearly as active on here as I was early on, but I've come to enjoy this forum and the people I've met on here and I will be disappointed if it were to end with the story.

anyway I'm looking forward to seeing the conclusion, I'm sure it will be excellent.

I like the emptiness of the panels before we see the FAs, it's spooky but warm in a way.

Wait, what? The end? Really? So no big, mysterious baddy they have to unite to fight? I suppose that would have been too predictable.... sigh. I suppose all GOOD things come to an end(and dont get drawn out to the dissapointment of fans)... is there at least a hope of a continuing collaboration of Mr Ellis and Mr Duffield on other online projects?

I sometimes have a creeping feeling that when Frknglz ends, so does the board. It has all been a fantastic journey though!

Stuck at work all by myself in this bigass building in this miserable fucking town. I can't wait to go home and drink and maybe figure out the next Space Shark. drinking and sharks keeps me happy ^__^

The people downstairs listened to all the laughter from upstairs and wondered what the hell was going on - i'd just got to page 5 panel 2.

Will the forums end? I really hope not. Will the online comic archive disappear? Aha, i begin to see the point of the hard copies. Still, i'd like to see some kind of digital version (and not one tied to any particular device PLEEZE!) so i can look at Mr Duffield's artwork full-size on a nice bright screen. Yes, that would be good.

How's me? I took a lorry to the workshop down by River road. The whole area down by Barking Creek smelt like something died there a while ago and no one had managed to find a crane big enough to move it. Fragrant, picturesque, jewel of the east. Oh yes.

Very likely. He was shot in the front of the head ; it's probably not a coincidence that he's exhibiting symptoms not unlike having had a frontal lobotomy *

Mark, as remarked before, looks like he's had a stroke in his motor functions, probably induced by the "spike" driven through his brain.

It appears that the 'Angels are not ENTIRELY beings composed of purple glowy stuff with the meat a mere inconvenient wrapper (yet?).

Presumably this is also why Connor has been advised by a future 'Angel that shooting yourself in the head is not the best way of triggering an upgrade. He seems to have been luckier than Mark or Luke - perhaps he shot himself in an area responsible for something trivial (to a godlike being with purple powers) like the bits that make your body remember to breathe.

Arkady definitely comes out in front here - her "upgrades" were both triggered by asphyxiation (one opiate drug overdose depressing the autonomic reflex to breathe, one immersion in water). So long as you assume that microscopic damage is easier to heal once you overcome that inconvenient death thing, she's got the highest upgrade level with the least damage after 2 upgrades like Mark (possibly, after they dropped a building on him), everyone else has one upgrade (from Connor).

* Although, if you're shot in the front, the shockwave will damage the back the most. Luke should actually be blind. Just sayin'

I know I'm new on the forum, but I've been following Freakangels for almost a year now I think. I feel foolish for not joining this forum earlier, especially when I read of how much community has grown on here.

Anyway enough ramblings. I have to admit I am sad that this could be the end, but in traditional style, the sadness is lifted by a great joke about wine. Though I'll miss the weekly read, I'm sure Mr Ellis will be working on something soon to fill this gap!!

@staticgirl: maybe leave the elevator sometimes where it is and take the stairs more often? If not for all the floors at once, you can start with skipping a few. In that way you improve your physical condition and it won't hurt you to have another firedrill... ;-)

You can't skip a few because of security. We only rent a couple of floors, else I would surely do that to build up all the right leg muscles. :) I do take the stairs instead of the lift to go up to floor 23. :)
