    ...is Estonia apparently.

I may have to move there.
  1.  (942.2)
Dammit, couldn't it have been somewhere closer? Estonia is that kind of country that when someone mentions it to you, your answer is "where the fuck is that?".

    And warmer?
  2.  (942.4)
Ah, no need to be warm. Remember, I live in Rio de Janeiro. I'm sick of sweating.

God is also scheduled to soon abandon Belarus, Latvia and Uzbekistan...

God abandoned America when he gave us the Christian right.

Estonia is nice and easy to find for the British, so much so that they're rather sick of us coming over, getting horrendously drunk on the cheap lager, and 'interacting' with their ladies. Or so I'm told. *cough*.

Estonia's only hard to find if you got your education in Geography in the States. American Geography 101: "There's Fuckin' America and a bunch of other shit over there somewhere. Apparently they hate our freedom. God told me so." [Note: the word "god" is only capitalized because it's a direct quote of some idiot]
That said I have a good friend who lives between Vancouver and whatever city in Estonia and she dresses like a fuckin' Disney princess, which being a gorgeous Estonian folk dancer, I think perfectly fuckin' suitable. I hear Estonia involves lots of drink, and lots of dance. Well worth a lookin' in on.
Speaking of atheism, it's not so much God and Jesus that bug me so much as the people gobblin' that shit down. I don't like being lied to. And I don't fuckin' very well like being told what's right and wrong by anyone thinks either extreme set in stone. I think in the Americas these days, there's something of an enlightenment on the horizon as far as religion goes. Religion doesn't seem to grasp any reasonable people anymore; it's purely fuckin' vestigial.

I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
Religion is not the problem. You can have the exact same kind of "my beliefs are right so I get to tell you how to live" bullshit in any society.

I was just posting in the "Black Summer" thread how there is not the slightest bit of difference between the PETA fascists and the anti abortion fanatics.
Whether your beliefs come from the Bible or a quasiliberal atheistic upbringing you should not have the right to force them on others.
Not all religion is bad either. The red letter christians who follow what Jesus actual said rather than what some church interpreted 700 years later
believe in leading by example and charity. One of the reason atheism is so common in eastern Europe is it was a law until a few years ago.
The communists thought that getting rid of old belief systems ,sharing resources based on need and ending sexism and the exploitation of the poor by the rich would lead to a better state and a better world. Thank God we got rid of those guys!

Certainly there are positive and negative sides to every coin. The main problem with religion (or anything, really) is in how people implement it. I think Unsub is right in that regard, but I also don't think god has shit to do with getting rid of the communists, since first of all... well, she's fictional.

Unsub: "there is not the slightest bit of difference between the PETA fascists and the anti abortion fanatics."

How many people have PETA killed?

Disclaimer: I fuckin' despise PETA but there is a significant difference between them and the extreme wing of the anti-abortion movement,

Edited to add: this thread is not intended as a criticism of Christianity or any other religion. But as an atheist, it'd be nice just once not to be part of the minority.
