Best natural history series by the BBC for a long while!
I'ts about Humans and how different cultures are
so incredible adapted to their environments, some
    gain specific physical abilities.

Yanks on the board, i really suggest you get a hold of it
    somehow, maybe BBC America.

A man dives like a whale or any other marine mammal
holding his breath longer than he should be able to and
    under huge sea pressures....

    The real Aquaman [Human Planet]

The Trailer for the whole Human Planet Series-

I tried to find the clips of the desert family who travel the
desert because i kid you not, they can read dunes like
books. Yes I know sand shifts in the wind! And the sea gypsies
whose eyes focus better underwater, who are born at sea
and get land sick beacuse they spend all their lives on boats

bootiful shots, especially walking across the bottom with that harpoon... and of course John Hurt's sexy sexy voice. but I can't help feeling that if this fella were superhuman, he wouldn't need the goggles.

I have a superpower. I can decompress my ears (yknow, 'pop' them) whever I want, without having to swallow or fiddle about with them. SO useful.

I have webbed feet, and I can swim quite well.

Well s--t arklight that's one helluva an interesting post, gotta see it, is the whole thing online?

(p.s. I have the power to go for unprecidented periods of time without washing, changing or even purchasing new clothes- I've adapted to life in Toronto and a skill more useful than you might expect.)

@TheEndsOfInvention - I can decompress my ears (yknow, 'pop' them) whenever I want, without having to swallow or fiddle about with them. SO useful.

I'll raise you - I can decompress my ears at will, and can waggle them ;D

I would love to watch that. Not superhuman, but my grandfather and his family (mom's side) were/are excellent at boating on Lake Superior, even during Northeasters (though my Uncle Wayne doesn't go out during those anymore). I didn't grow up in the area so I didn't much of anything about boating, but there are some crazy stories about the stuff they did in their day. Just had to brag about how cool that part of my family is.

@Trini_ having grown up along the great lakes, I cut my teeth on the book _Greatlakes Shipwrecks_ and on tales of the Fitz and various storms. I bet your family has some AWESOME stories.

@Rootfireember: Some locals were on the Edmund Fitzgerald. I really should get those stories written down or recorded someday. They did some crazy stuff.

more clips , some from last nights show.
    This environment- The Jungle.

First up ariel footage of uncontacted tribes deep in the Amazon.
Apparently there are about 70 different uncontacted tribes in the
    vast Brazillian rainforest.

People who have never seen anyone unlike themselves.
People who would consider us aliens like out of some sci-fi
movie if we landed in our planes.

"Uncontacted Tribes of The Amazon [Human Planet-BBC]"

You think you can climb trees? No you can't this guy-
    Tete. He climbs trees...

"Climbing massive tall tree for honey [Human Planet-BBC]"

and from the Arctic environment program. A group of inuit hunt under the
sea ice in a unique way. Then it's an indiana jones rush to get the hell out
before they get crushed and drown...

like he's the red falcon or hawkman or something...

This is in HD on youtube, I recommend you see this in HD!
they've strapped on an eagle cam on the birds head.
