Some idea bashing for a character on a new project, just wanted to see some things to get the ball rolling.

    Photobucket

I posted this back when it was just my line drawing, but it's since been colored and word-ballooned and posted as part of this weird, broken-English webcomic. I hadn't seen it finished until now (I didn't do the writing or coloring, to make that clear...), so thought I'd post it. It's here if anyone wants to read the comic, although it's still pretty early in the story, so there's not much meat there...

Soooo...I've finally gotten back to That One Project... an illustration of the best-remembered scene of The Winter's Tale done entirely with post-its.

Great character drawing and perspective as usual Paul. At the risk of being an arse eel, there is something funky with her foreground thumb.

@Sizer great illo, Paul. I hate that that's just you " idea bashing."

My idea bashing is a lot more bloody and concrete wall filled.

Got some Art Trading card blanks for my berfday, decided to make as much as a Tarot Deck as I feel like doing. (I was working on a playing card/divination card deck a few years ago, and moving lost my motivation). Here's the first card.

Been working on bringing my drawings to life and just got my first taste of the computer animation from 3d Graphic's artist Laurie Ronne. I'm excited,

here's the 3D work in progress

and these are some stills from the hand drawn stop-motion version

Kevin Mellon: To be perfectly honest, that's more of a sketch that just became a coloring exercise because I was stuck on something else and used it to kill time.
My actual idea bashing, as you describe yours, is with a big mallet and tongs.

At the risk of being an arse eel, there is something funky with her foreground thumb.

FredG: Yeah, I agree. It's off in some way. Never an arse eel to give an honest crit, I need them as much as anyone, trust me!

@Sizer and Kevin: That must be the difference between artists and writers, process-wise. When I'm idea bashing, I actually bash people until they give me ideas.

Inspired from comments on the "You All Have Spoiled Me" thread:

Does it really even need to be said?

    Jesus Slaves

    Courtesy Call t-shirt design

The third in a series of weird Jesus paintings ("shaves" and "waves" (where he was in a dress at a beauty pageant...) being the other two) for my roommate's boyfriend. Running out of funny things that rhyme with "saves". And a t-shirt graphic for a local band. I didn't design it; I was given a kind of sketchy drawing and asked to fix it up, so I re-drew the entire thing, but basically left everything where it was, layout-wise. Supposed to be on some shirts at a show this evening, but they didn't get them made in time? I don't really know. We'll see if it ever happens, I guess... But an interesting, headache-inducing crash course in trying to do a picture with only 4 colors. Couldn't quite get the leaves greener than that. Oh well.
