'Morning, Whitechapel. I've spent more time on the phone this week than I have in the past year, I think. God, I hate the phone. Were people this stupid on the phone before we had email? I think they were, I just think I'm spoiled.
I wonder if Alice is going to tell off the Freakangels? Or is it that she has a new appreciation for what they've accomplished? Bah. Too tired to tell.
What a great day it is. Friday is full of wonderful things, like Freakangels and last work day of the week. I plan to sleep all...weekend...long. Stupid long week at work.
Alice really is pretty awesome. I assume she was strangling people in Manchester after the crash?
My week was the usual dull, grinding, bleak office slog, made slightly worse by learning that I won't be getting a place in an exhibition at the Museum of London. But hey, it's the weekend and things are worse in Queensland.
go alice... Excellent art for the fight scene, gary got had up ! just been chilling and playing lots of xbox this week, hoping to have some work starting soon.
If I had a dollar, I wouldn't mind putting it on the fact that this is an elaborate Mark ruse, those people that Alice has just met also under his control. Gary being case in point, even if only by omission.
I would read THE CONTINUING ADVENTURES OF ALICE: SERIAL CRUSHA
This week is good. Twatting away at scripts and prose, and sent the first chapter of my next Weaponizer serial off. My wife just got over the flu, and I have had steel-cut oats for breakfast every morning this week.
I especially dig the angle and dynamics of page 2, the positional movement of the scene is very well done. Fantastic work, Mr. Duffield (and colorists, too)!
For some stupid fucking reason I've decided to go off of caffeine. Headaches are starting but at least my mood hasn't caused my wife to leave me and/or shank me in the spine and leave me for dead.
One quibble, though. In the last panel of page 6 -- that is not a safe way to carry a loaded shotgun, assuming it's loaded. It should be pointed skyward, or at the ground. You will sometimes see people carrying shotguns over their shoulders like that, but in those cases they are "broken open" (where the action is on a hinge, so that even if there are shells in the battery there is no chance of the gun's hammer accidentally striking the shell's primers and setting them off).
Of course, it's possible you already know about that and in the next installment we'll see Alice accidentally shoot someone walking behind her. But just in case that isn't what you had in mind ...
Busy busy week. Doing random IT jobs that appear to be my (the sysadmin's) job mostly because they're clearly not anyone else's job. Also fixing problems that have been problems for months but we finally figured out last week what the actual problem was.
But now it is Friday, and one of my favorite Tacoma bands is playing a show downtown, right around the corner from the arcade where I spent my early Friday evenings playing Arkanoid and Ms. Pac-Mac, and thus I shall be joyous.
