Nothing like a couple of butt-strokes to take care of a problem.
    I'm liking this direction.
This week I finished up the prologue/intro to kpatrickglover's and my new GN/serial/webcomic that's happening via Weaponizer. Starting on the 1st couple of week's installments tonight. We be styling!

Alice rocks, but the way this fight... sorry, takedown was drawn rocked even more.

Also, Alice, you don't leave people alone when you tie them up. I mean, really...

It appears not only the freakangels themselves have their "moment of truth": Alice too, for all the others regard her a FA as well so in absence of the other FA's they think she is in charge and decides/knows how to handle things. That loads Alice with a lot of responsability...
The man with the gun (and it seems there are more) are like "dogs on the loose" without Mark being conscious and in control, and a dog on the loose is much more dangerous (because unpredictable) than a controlled dog if you get my meaning.

Last week was a bummer. Instead of going to Egypt on a vacation we were stuck home, so the wife decided to start springtime cleaning instead. And that in the middle of winter. But I will survive, and new travelingplans are made. :-)

So, here's a rough recap of Alice' method of mob control; Twat the maniac with shotgun and everyone else will assume you're in charge and fall in line. Upgrade? What's that? She don't need no stinkin' upgrade...BTW I'm willing to put money on Alice figuring out that the Angels caused the crash in the first place, all by her lonesome.

Heh after all the fancy Freak-mind-warp of the last several months I kind of lost sight just what it means to have the apocalypse come and go a few years ago. Of course Alice has been out living in it - weren't her brothers gun runners? Even looking at war-time situations (as my brothers-the-soldiers told me), the smart thing is NOT to run at the guy with the gun. Particularly if you're armed. But then in times so desperate a person bold enough to live through them will be agile and strong enough to to be an action hero. Sweet.

Me too with the plaudits for Paul's work on the angles, cloth details, anatomy and so on. highly details, beautiful work. Brilliant - you deserve to take a bow.

I think I get it from context but I want to be sure, can someone translate "more front than anything" for me? Does it mean fronting like gangsters say, basically meaning putting up a front of confidence? sorry to be lame, I don't speak Manchurian...er, Manchesterian... um, English.

    @razrangel

Yep - "more front than anything" means "more having the balls to stand up and look confident than anything".

And the adjectival form of Manchester is "Mancunian" :)

@Scott: Something tells me Alice has never had any gun safety instruction.

I'm liking where this is going.

Solve the first problem, and people will look to you for the second one.

    How to be a Freakangel.

I was particularly struck by the violation of the 180ยบ rule at the top of page three. Really added to the kineticism/chaos of the fight.

Hectic week at work, compounded by the fact that my favorite person at the office is about to leave for much greener pastures. I'm thrilled for her, but now I need to find somebody else to keep me sane amidst all the Brazil-esque bureaucracy.

Fook me. Everytime I "hear" Alice speak, it's like a right slice of Weatherfield. Janice Battersby or summat. Only fookin' freaky, like. You Yanks have no idear.

Yep, having front is being able to present the scrotum, if not the contents.

    (Right, Luke?)

Well, they *did* left Alice in charge, and she has the shirt to prove it! Short of replaying 'Life of Brian' I suppose she'll have go along with leading as the last FFA!

(Er... knots. What sort of money are we looking to earn here?)

Cold and busy but happy in general here in Texas :)

And I. Love. ALICE. I love her. Do I sense a bit of foreshadowing in this episode?

It's interesting to see Alice get the rest of the perspective on Whitechapel here. She's finally seeing what they've been keeping close to their vests all this time - that they don't have, and never really did, a clue about what they're going around doing - it's all been accidental, more or less. They've all bumbled from one 'success' to another, but they've never really had a plan.

Which is a shame, because the rest of the folk in Whitechapel seem to be under the impression that they HAVE had one, and really don't understand that their 'leaders' are no more competent or capable than they themselves, aside from being psionic monsters with superpowers. So rather than getting up and really doing for themselves, they've been sitting around waiting.

I think that Alice has suddenly got the idea that Whitechapel could be much more than it is now, if only it put those resources to proper and effective use, rather than having them sit around waiting for their Freakangels to figure out things more important than how far from home they have to wander to have sex without the rest of them knowing or how much tinfoil it takes to make a proper hat with.

    FFA? Future Freakangels of America?
