Trying to get this back on a monthly basis.

You do a webcomic? Tell me about it here. Not more than one or two images, please, or else the thread takes forever to load. Don't forget the bloody link.

Relax. There are only 9000 members of Whitechapel, plus god knows how many drop-ins who aren't registered members. Only around 2500 people per day visit Whitechapel on average. Except when it's busy, or when I run links from warrenellis.com.

And they all want to read webcomics.

NOTE: this is not for people to list their favourite webcomics. We've done that before. Boring.

-- W

Ooh, a new webcomics week! And I get to be on page one!

I run two weekly webcomics, or one webcomic and one collection of stuff, at my site.

Mondays, there's GATE CRASH. That's a collective label for everything that doesn't have its own weekly schedule (yet), subdivided by series. Can be anything from cartoons to old comics to comissioned art. Here's last Monday's piece, from THE MAX FILES:

Fridays, there's CONNY VAN EHLSING, MONSTER HUNTER, a long-form coming-of-age horror series about a girl who will one day grow up to be the greatest monster hunter ever - once she does grow up. The stories vary between one image and 18 pages (so far). I just started a new story:

Yay, it's webcomics week again. I do The Cattle Raid of Cooley, an ongoing serialised graphic novel adapting the Iron Age Irish epic. It's a war story, it's a coming of age story, it's got violence, conflicted loyalties, aging sex symbols and slightly unconvincing adolescent bravado. Unfortunately you catch me when I've just skipped two weeks due to factors beyond my control. Should be back on track on Wednesday, but there's 110 pages so far, so plenty to catch up on. Here's the most recent two pages:

 HEY GANG!

Geoffrey D. Wessel here, once again to shameless pimp all manner of webcomic works for you lucky, lucky people to read and enjoy.

* First off, my "main" project at the moment: KEEPER, a sports-crime thriller about an American goalkeeper who's brought talents other than footballing to England. Issue #0 is online IN FULL now, with Issue #1 due to start serialization in the VERY near future. AND we're also going to be at C2E2! In the Webcomic Pavilion, at table WC06! Come by, check us out! Written by ME, art by Jeff Simpson, letters/design by veteran British letterer/writer Jim Campbell!

Phil Hester (Firebreather, The Anchor, Wonder Woman) says: "Readers of Keeper can count themselves lucky to be in on the beginning of a startlingly innovative writer's career."

Rob Williams (Low Life, Cla$$war, Punisher: Get Castle) says: "Keeper draws you into nostalgia for those Roy Of The Rovers, Tiger and Look-In strips of your childhood and then, with a shocking twist reveals itself to be something bloodier and far more thrilling."

See for yourself!!

* Another webcomic I did named There Is A Light, along with John Keogh of the late lamented LUCID TV strip, will also be going back to print with a NEW COVER, also available at my table at C2E2! Thrill to the adventures of Morrissey the Barbarian!

* Finally, I'm also a writer/editor for weekly sci-fi anthology comic Hadron Colliderscope, which it has now been announced will SOON be featuring an adaptation of a short story by none other than Whitechapel overlord Warren Ellis himself! However, it won't be me working on that one. *sniff* In the meantime, here's the first page of one of my past strips. Come on over and check it out!

Thanks!
--- Geoffrey D. First as always, thanks to Warren for starting up this threat.

I remain Scott Springer and I continue to write/illustrate/pimp my webcomic,Angry Faerie. It's the story of the Anger Faerie and the other mythological creatures who have to put up with her. I like to describe it at conventions as "Tinkerbell meets Dragonball (but not Dragonball Z)". Angry Faerie just had it's 1 year anniversary on 2/8/11 and has not missed any updates (and it updates monday/wednesday/friday). The format will actually be changing this week, so Monday will be the last of the 'newspaper strip' style.

The current story involves Angry Faerie returning from the faerie realm to find that a year has passed in the human realm. She's come back with her brother, her former best friend, and a clone of Angry Faerie that her former best friend made. While certain things are being done to Angry Faerie, her clone has slipped away and encountered the lead Draugr, previously seen months ago.

Thenk yew, thenk yew. I have two on-going web-comics series.

1. QUANTUM VIBE -- a slightly mad science-fiction story set 512 years in the future, in which a very bright (and hard-drinking) but somewhat aimless science-girl gets a job assisting a veritable mad scientist as he tours the future Solar System doing hard-to-explain things. Written and drawn by moi, with some art assistance by my son Zeke. Updates 5 days weekly.

2. ESCAPE FROM TERRA -- now in its third year -- At the turn of the next century, intrepid adventurers and colonists establish strange new worlds in the Asteroid Belt and elsewhere in the Solar System. When not fending off The Usual Parasites from Terra, they find all manner of unique amusements, as well as dangers. Hard sci-fi in the tradition of Robert Heinlein. We are now going into an A/B story arc system with two different artists -- Lee Oaks, our original artist, and Leila Del Duca, who began as an inker for Lee but now is drawing her own strips for us. Stories by Sandy Sandfort, adapted to script form by moi.

I have a new webcomic to be officially released later this week (but we'll give Whitechapel a peek). It's a collaboration with artist EC Steiner called THINK OF THE CHILDREN.

It's a 24-page, one-shot, satirical horror comic about the events leading to the original Comics Code Authority. The members of the Senate Subcommittee are secret monster hunters, seeking to destroy evil children, who they believe are corrupted by the stories of EC Comics. THINK OF THE CHILDREN is designed for print publication, with plans for a hand-made, hardbound, sculpted artifact book in mind. So that the story can reach as wide an audience as possible, we have decided to release it online for free. Comics make kids evil!

I also wrote a webcomic with artists Andrew Sides and Errol Rich Jr. called BORDER CROSSINGS. There are currently over 70 pages (3+ issues) of story online. I'm currently seeking a new artist to collaborate with on this creator owned project.

BORDER CROSSINGS is a dark marine fantasy where a salvage submarine’s strange crew must redefine freedom for their drowned world. If you prefer comparisons it’s Firefly, Labyrinth and Perdido Street Station in a nautical steampunk mash-up. The story is also an allegory for the modern era of globalization.

I am currently seeking a new artist to finish the last 44 pages of BORDER CROSSINGS. There is an opportunity for publication and the original artist has released his rights to the story, opening the door for a creator owned collaboration. If you're interested, more information is available at the site. Or you can contact me at christian [dot] sager [at] gmail [dot] com.

I write a comic called Spy6teen, which was a former Zuda contestant that we decided to relaunch under our own power-- pushing for a web/digital distribution platform.

It's a fairly mainstream/pop comic about a high school girl named Cally Calhoon, who moonlights as a super-spy. Tonally, it's a bit of a love letter to the early 2000's comics that got me back into reading: Ultimate Spider-man, Invincible, and Warren's work on Planetary/Authority-- (although, I consider us an "all-ages" book, so not quite as violent as The Authority...) We were called Joss Whedon-y in a review-- Personally, I take that as a compliment. (I leik Joss stuf)

Here's a look at Page 1:

And, just to show off the superhero-ness-y of it all, here's page 15:

Yup. Monster Tentacles. I forgot to mention HP Lovecraft above, didn't I?
(Not that we're Lovecraft-y...but maybe a few Interdimentional Monsters might show up...)

We've wrapped up our first issue and recently started waving our Digital Comic flag last week. We're currently available on Graphic.Ly for 99 cents, and we've got a few other platforms in the works. Why would you pay 99 cents for a webcomic that you can get for free? Good question. I try to answer it here.

I think we're one of the few "full team" webcomics around-- with (in my opinion) a really solid creative team. Our artist is a fellow from Hawaii named DJ Keawekane, who has done some indie work for a comic called Pono Loa. We're colored by Lisa Moore, who colors Boom's Darkwing Duck book, and lettered by Brant Fowler from Comic Related. Rounding out our cast is DJ Kirkbride, who was one of the editors for Image's Popgun anthology. (and won a friggin' Eisner!)

Oh, and I'm the guy that runs the Comic Book Script Archive...which Warren was kind enough to link once, and nearly broke my server.

Thanks very much for reading-- Hope you check out Spy6teen and let us know what you think!

Cheers!

Jeff Parker and I have been updating our comic, Bucko, twice a week since we launched it earlier this month. It's a dick and fart joke murder mystery about a guy dubbed Bucko who is desperately trying to land a job until he's forced to run out of an interview half-way through due to an urgent case of alcohol-fueled diarrhea from the previous night's misguided case of drinking in the hopes of getting a threeway with the girl he's had a crush on for ages. In the bathroom he discovers a murdered body and as the prime suspect it is up to him, with the help of his crush, to solve the case to clear his name. ...And just maybe get that threesome after all.

We update Tuesdays and Fridays and this story will probably take just over a year to finish. The really fun part about this comic for me, as the artist, is that Parker only gives me one page of script at a time so I'm consuming this story in the exact same speed as the rest of our readers. In order to find out what happens next, I gotta finish my current page so he'll give me the next script!

RLP is a drama/horror/black comedy series about a small real estate office on Miami Beach that exorcises and sells "previously-haunted houses" to victims of foreclosure. The RLP office is run by the Tobins, a couple in the process of divorcing: Jude Tobin (above in striped shirt) is the schlubby drug-addled Jewish shaman and Cecilia is his control-freak Cuban wife who runs the business affairs, leaving him free to enter haunted houses and smoke hallucinogenic plants that let him enter the spirit world to converse with the spirits in the hopes of getting rid of them. There's also their young son Turi, stuck in the middle of the divorce, and Zoya, their perky zaftig Russian receptionist-slash-ghost-photographer whose enthusiasm for working with our shaman feeds his own ego while exacerbating an already-bad situation.

I've done the whole first OGN already (which starts here), and am currently doing short RLP stories while fine-tuning the second OGN's script; the story currently running is called "Know Thy Enema", the first page of which is above (I've just posted the fourth ten minutes ago).

Love to see you there, kids... and thank you Warren for giving us all this space for another month.

---cheers---> d!
Dan Goldman

 Hi all,

longtime lurker, first time poster.

Along with my compadre, Dan Light, we've just done a promo comic of TRUE GRIT for Paramount Pictures. Jim Campbell did the lettering and boy genius, Christian Wildgoose, knocked the art out of the park. Hey, folks.

Cura Te Ipsum (Latin for Physician, Heal Thyself), an ongoing digital comic, can be found at http://www.charlieeverett.com.

Cura Te Ipsum tells the story of Charlie Everett, a man whose job it was to tell other people how to live their own lives while not knowing what he wanted to do with his own. As he grows more and more depressed, he decides to put a gun to his own head, only to be stopped at the last moment by a mysterious stranger… himself.

He learns that across universes, he bands together with himself to both stop his alternate selves from committing suicide, and to stop the Dark Everett, a version of Charlie who believes that he was meant to commit suicide, and thereby goes across universes murdering Charlies (see that bastard below).

The pages below are few splash pages from the series. The artist, Dexter Wee, is fantastic. I'm very fortunate to work with him.

There are 47 pages of story up, 57 in the can as of today (2-27-2011), and we're updating Monday/Wednesday/Friday without fail.
