I just had a jaunt around the Whitechapel environs and Indo right across Whitechapel Road from The East London Mosque was quite a nice little place. Beers around 4£ and nice pizzas about 7£, if this sounds acceptable?

Maybe meet at Liverpool St. and go for food at some place on Brick Lane before the pub?

ALSO. I've now had my two (2) first London Moments. 1) Stepping onto Brick Lane and being assaulted with the aromas of about 78 Bengali restaurants. 2) Sitting at the Indo pub, drinking Belgian cherry beer, listening to Tom Waits on the speakers and a muzzein calling people to The East London Mosque across the street.

    This is why I travel.

Sod's law I'm flying out the country tomorrow. I second the Angel on Tottenham Court Road, especially if you are suffering from moustache overload.

Have a good ol' knees up, me ol' chinas etc.

    SATURDAY:

    1) Let's meet at Liverpool St. station (suggestions for nearby cafés are welcome, too) at 7 PM.
    2) Bagels (or proper food, depending on the vote) on Brick Lane (Beigal).
    3) Beer etc. at Indo (133 Whitechapel Road, right across the street from the East London Mosque).

I'd imagine someone can update this thread if the situation develops / the group moves during the evening.

Sign up, folks! (And do suggest a more precise spot at Liverpool.)

@nigredo - Well dang. If you're feeling like a post-work pint or such some day, let me know. I still owe you a beverage.

TONIGHT: I'll be standing outside the Bishopsgate exit to the Liverpool St. station at 7PM. I'm the scruffy looking hippie in a long wool overcoat. See you there, I hope.

TOMORROW: So, who's up for tea and strolls?

Sure thing. I'd imagine it's the Indo, unless it's unbearably full. I'll try to update the thread.

Late to the party. Not been on Whitechapel for a bit. I could use a Sunday constitutional.

Will check in again on the thread later.

Last night in London town done.

Thanks to microclimate, VertigoJones, Cassowaries, PintSizedCat and nigredo for stopping by to hang around, you're all wonderful and not at all murdery people. (Special thanks to misat0, who I'll catch next time, unless we're again both down with some weird English death-cough. <3)

If any of you are ever over in Helsinki or environs thereof, let me know.

This is a lovely town, though, innit?

ASIDE: And yeah so I decided to drop down to Brixton on the last day? STUPID TAPHEAD STUPID STUPID. I'm only interested in, oh I don't know, music, food and subculture, surely Brixton wouldn't interest me at all. *headdesk*

ASIDE #2: There is a delicious irony in running around the Science Museum, trying to find The Clock of the Long Now in a terrible hurry, and failing.

    Look up now and again:
