Hey kids, Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle is just around the corner (March 4-6), and 2011 is also the first year (far as I know) that Avatar will have a presence at the event. I've never quite made it out to post-con meet-ups the last couple years, but this shall be the year for me.

I'll definitely be at the con on Saturday the 5th, and probably stuck in Seattle for the evening while my lady goes to the James Marsters concert, if anybody feels like hooking up for a drink or seven at the end of the day. Location to be decided by whomever wants to come.

ALSO on Friday the 4th Ben Templesmith, David Mack, Jim Mahfood and a number of other artists are having a live art event at the Noc Noc (free cover if you say you're there for the art). I'm not so much a fan of DJs and dance clubs, but I'd be more likely to attend if other Whitechapelers would be into it, as well.

Dude, Noc Noc on Saturday night was the high point of the event for me. Thanks for letting me know!

I'd be down for a meet up if it's at a time I can catch it.

The Noc Noc live-art thing is 9:30 PM on Friday. There's a blurb about it on the ECCC events page, and a Facebook event.

You going to have a table this year? You were the only Whitechapeler I met last year, mostly because you were easily locatable.

I'll be down there with a small group of people on the Saturday. My wife and I generally start wandering aimlessly after a couple of hours so I'm always up for meeting people. I have no idea how late we'll be in Seattle but if anyone wants to go for a lunch that would be good, and I'll update in here when I have an idea as to when we'll be headed home.

Lunch is also a thing that I eat. I'm sure something could be arranged.

No doubt the Jigsaw R crew will be scurrying around the event.

@izenmania — No table for us this year. Nothing to sell until the book comes out from Image. I'm a free agent again!

Joe -- Any idea what time you'd want to go for lunch? One of my friends has a table so we can meet up there. (I also have no idea how many people I'm actually going to be down there with, but I figure at the very least my wife will be going us for lunch.)

The Avatar crew just headed out for the show. Jacen Burrows, Mike Wolfer, Max Brooks, Dheeraj Verma will be there.

I'll be there, stalking the artist's getting their portfolio's reviewed. Maybe I'll keep one.

    @Neil - Maybe 1? 1:30? Somewhere around there.

Last call... anybody else planning to hit up the live art thing at the Noc Noc tomorrow night? I'm still on the fence, but could be tipped off it if a decent WC crowd were attending.

Last minute chime in and delurking for me...

I will be at ECCC this weekend, but I will mostly be at my table in Artist Alley and spending time with some old friends who live in Seattle.

I would love to meet some of the Whitechaplers, so please stop by if you're wandering around. Table B-19. Like the bomber. Mention Whitechapel and I will make a little doodle for you.

Joe -- Yeah, that works. Let's say 1:30 just to be safe (show starts at 10, right?). My friends booth is at D-10/11 (Real Gone Girl Studios). My wife and I will be around there, she'll be in a steampunk-y outfit, I'll look like a guy with pants and a shirt on. Hopefully you have a suggestion for food as we sure as heck don't.

I tried saying "I'm the guy in the beard and bowler" one year, but it turns out there are many of us. Instead, I'll be the guy in the beard, bowler, and waxed handlebar mustache (complete with supplementary waxed handlebar soul patch).

How do you guys feel about sushi?

Yeah, descriptions of people and then actually finding them is really unlikely. I did manage to find Willow last year and then realized later that I'm pretty sure she was talking to SpiralTwist. I look at it this way though... you'll be the guy in a beard and bowler hanging around a little Jewish girls booth around 1:30. That should make it a little easier to spot you this time...

Sushi would be fine with me, my wife likes it so long as there's other Japanese food involved as well.
