I was watching Top Gear On Demand and I saw a trailer showcasing the New BBC Amerias shows coming on but i only started paying attention when I saw Dr Who scenes. Which is the problem because the promo seems to have said that the new shows will start this saturday.
I tried to look in the internet for anything that would confirm that Dr Who starts this saturday but I couldn't find anything.
Can anyone confirm when the new Dr. Who series is going to start?
I've been looking forward to it.

It's usually around Easter time in the UK.

    Could be reruns

Plus, looking on BBC America website, there's a newsfeed that says Nicholas Courtney (Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart) had died...sad now...

Looking at the schedule, it seems like nothing but reruns. Says season 6 starts in spring.

As far as I remember, season 6 starts airing on the UK about the 21st April. The series is being separated into two parts with a break in between. Seven episodes, a mid-season cliffhanger, then it resumes again in Autumn. So, however long the delay is between the UK and the US - Isn't it something like 4/5 weeks?

Also, I don't think I've ever looked forward to Who more, just to find out why the Doctor is shown bearded in chains in Area 51 and who River Song is.

Looks like you're getting more trailers for it in the US then we are in the UK. I haven't noticed any trailers for the new series yet.

The BBC tend to only start trailing their stuff about 3 weeks ahead of time.

@Kradlum - I think this was aired just after the Christmas special. So far it's the only one we've gotten in the UK, but it looks like the only one period.

    And it's wonderful.

Cool! I may have seen that at Xmas, but by that time the whisky would have been interfering with my memory.

There’s no delay anymore. Although I think that the US versions are sometimes edited down to allow BBC America to pack in commercials.

Damn! and here I was hoping maybe it would get an early kickoff. I just watched the Xmas special a few days ago (Why yes, I have been under a rock, thank you for asking) and the next season looks fantastic. Dr. Who is coming to America. I for one welcome our new Time Overlords.

There's also going to be a Doctor Who MMO.
Leading up to the San Francisco Game Developers Conference (GDC), BBC Worldwide today announced a major new partnership with game developer Three Rings to create BBC Worldwide's first ever free-to-play multiplayer online game centered around the blockbuster drama television show, Doctor Who.

For the first time ever, players from around the world will be able to follow in the footsteps of the eccentric and brilliant Doctor by travelling through time and space, exploring new worlds and encountering many alien races, both friend and foe. Titled Doctor Who: Worlds in Time, the game allows players to enter the TARDIS and be set a challenge by the mysterious Time Lord to help him defend civilized culture against infamous Doctor Who enemies.

    More details here.

@James Puckett The re-runs are cut down, but if you make sure you catch the initial airing on BBC America, it is uncut. They just started doing this with the first Matt Smith series.

I'll bet you $5 USD that the first day will be populated with character such as TheDoctor, The_Doctor, TehDoctor, TheDoktur, and, the ever impressive, TheDokturrrrr

    Thanks, Greg, that explains it.

As for a Dr. Who MMO, I might try that if I can just drive around in Dalek armor blasting the shit out of humans.

    Geh. MMOs.

"If you get me forty five Ood brain pods, you will be rewarded with a Starter Sonic Screwdriver that you can use to fix the TARDIS. The batteries for the Starter Sonic Screwdriver will cost you eighty six Yeti furs. (Or you can buy it directly from The Who Store for twenty pounds.)"

    No thanks.

I think it's a little disappointing they've not gone with a UK developer for the MMO given that it's funded by the TV Licence etc...
