    @ taphead:

Forget Charlie Sheen. He could take "Winning" lessons from William Shatner. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

I'm combining Music and TV into a single category so I don't have to keep two sets of numbers straight. So -

Pop Culture History #1. This is another of those *ahem* 'less enlightened' cartoons they used to show on TV when I was a kid, back in the early seventies.

Rebecca Black Just Killed Pop Music

This is the girl and her video in question....

Ark Music Factory, the people behind the video, is a LA-based company ran by Patrice Wilson and Clarence Jay. They cater to wealthy parents with adolescent daughters (aged 13 to 17) who want to be pop stars. In their casting calls, they seek out young talent with no original material and produce auto-tuned music along with an accompanying video. Many of their videos (see City Sound Inertia for examples) are as laughably bad as Black’s, but not nearly as popular

and it's actually a cover of an obscure Bob Dylan Song

    Dear Music,

It was nice knowing you. Sorry to see you go, but just know that the hits outweigh the misses.

Yup, seen it, thanks. Anything Adam Curtis is always worth hunting down/watching.

@icelandbob - I have to admit that I've been groovin' to this...

Rebecca Black - Friday - Slowed Down x5

Comes out sounding like Bono got stoned with the Dalai Lama, the KLF and a copy of the Rig Veda.

That City Sound Inertia article referenced above is written by a dude in my town. Small world, blah blah.

That classic bit of Christian glurge "Footprints" Tatooine-style:
