    Apparently, nothing good happened in February. Ah well. Good thing there's a new month then!

    I got tagged in my first ever work related fangirl photo. I never take pics with the bands I work with because I think it makes me seem very unprofessional. But it was late and my friend dragged me along (same friend who used some unknown photo program to butcher this...) so here's us with Victor and Alex from Entombed. :D

    What stuff is happening to make your lives bright & shiny?

    Well, I was going to write about bulding my first model airplane, but Ryan goes and plays the Baby Card.

    Fuck, how can I compete with that?

    I'm going to snifff some glue. Maybe that's the point of building these things.

    I have made concrete plans for comic book shop openage. If all goes well with the lawyers and everyone I should be opening between may and June. Any Advice will be MUCH appreciated. Being locked into a mode of action is elating and terrifying.

    I've finally managed to land a job that will pay enough for a decent apartment with my current housemate. My first shift shall be celebrated with a glass of Victory Scotch.

    Congratulations, Ryan!

    Congratulations, Ryan! She looks adorable!

    Today I went to a production meeting for a slasher film. I was introduced as the set photographer, briefly went over some dates and shots I'd like to get and left. My first day is on Sunday, where I'll be shooting a woman in a bathroom covered in blood with her (ex)boyfriend in the tub split open. I'm looking forward to it.

    I also came across this quote that...well, it sums up how I've been doing things since, christ, elementary school.

    "perfer et obdura dolor hic tibi proderit olim"

    (Be patient and tough, some day this pain will be useful to you)

    Congrats, Ryan!

    babies! - I swear this place is just crawling with babies. Y'all be careful where you sit.

    So, mostly the good news is once removed (surgeries gone well, dissertation defenses lined up, graduating in the future, etc.) and on the other side of some bad news is a move this summer - I think I'm moving to Austin, TX. I think. Also, i get to start learning to repair books for my boss who will pay me like an independent contractor so that I can build up my CV.

    Also - Oldhat - that sounds like fun!

    I saw Alan Moore speak today at my old university, DMU Leicester, where he read a chapter of "Jerusalem" to a full lecturer theatre. He also signed my copy of "From Hell."

    There was also pizza in the pub after.

    My mom and I took Watson (cat) to the vet. My mom was worried because he was behaving unusually, and it turns out that his urinary tract is plugged. So he's at the vet for the weekend while he's got a catheter in and they give him extra fluids. How is this good news? We caught it early so it won't be as bad as it could have been.

    Practiced with my band. We worked on a song that features some stupidly tight interlocking polymeters. I was in hysterics once we'd all figured out what we were doing as there are at least three time signatures taking place between four of us. Polymeters are something I've always wanted to play around with, and now I have a personal example of what I consider to be rather professional noodling.

    I got a gas mask. Dur dur dur. I am stupidly happy with it.

    baaaaayy -beee!!! Daw!!!

    ok... now where did my brains go? Oh right. So I'm taking a voice class for the next few weeks at this studio with a crazy lady for a coach and it is teh stupid awesome. I'm loving it like crazy. It's fun, we crack each other up in class and push each other. We always applaud each other's work but today I really felt like I earned my applause. I'm still getting used to what my real voice sounds like and I would feel like I should treat it differently, try to carry a different personality with it, but I'm placing my faith in my teachers and fellow students that it's pulling off what I want.

    Plus she called it "sultry" and "haunting." Wee!

    @razrangel: Yay!

    @Rachæl Tyrell: Yes! Does this mean you're not having to depend on your family so much?

    @Ryan S Thomason: Darling!
