Iron Man is one of those characters that never caught on with me. Tony Stark is much more fascinating out of costume than he is in it.

    @Scribe

Definitely. Seems like Bruce Wayne without the vengeance angle. I'm looking forward to it as reader who's never read an Iron Man book.

The rising star has a new family and needs some easy money and decides to take the gig.

As the one who balances the checkbook in the family, I find this HI-larious. Not that our finances are anyone's business, but if dollars were his first concern, he never would have left MK12. He did. He was a partner. Do the math.

There are far, far more lucrative ways to sell your soul if that's what you're into.

Some of us appreciate all of the hard work he puts in. Honest.

I'm refering to Extremis and Inevitable among a couple of others.

I just reread Extremis about a week ago. Love, love, love, love the opening phone call. Perfect notes.

Oh, it's cool, Z. I'm not upset. (Nor am I Fraction's surrogate.) I just thought it was funny.

Hey, we didn't see you there... Ummm, you should probably just ignore the man-love in this thread...

Fraction's become on the the best damn writers is comics in a very short time.

That claim can be made on Casanova alone, but his Marvel work is every bit as good. I was sad to see the Order go so fast, but it sounds like he is going to have fun with this, and it will be a fine replacement. Other then Extremis, I have never really bothered with Iron Man solo books, but War Journal, The Order and Iron Fist are gold, so he certainly has my money once again.

    To quote myself,

...Matt Fraction, that he somehow has been able to generate a massive legion of man-loves. I wonder if Matt's aware of his rabbid fanbase?

If he didn't already, I bet he does now!

Totally. Sometimes when I'm reading some of Matt's work I get some major Grant Morrison vibes, but I don't think it's thematic or stylistic similarities. I think Matt's just bringing the same creativity and energy to his books that GM used to do on Doom Patrol and The Invisibles.

I'm all for this. you can tell matt's favorite parts of the order were when he was writing tony stark. you can already see him folding pepper potts back into the iron man book.

I really think it's too bad how marvel went to all the trouble of getting warren to reboot iron man, and then just dispense with all but the most superficial aspects of what he did. I'm hoping matt has a bit more subtlety than that. He and joe casey would be perfect for the two books. I'm a little concerned that salva might not have the 'splode in him for this. we need the 'splode on iron man. it's a moral imperitve.

and for god's sake, lose the howard hughes mustache!

after, what upon looking back were miniseries, im really not suprised that there is another Iron Man comic coming out. what sends me for a (small) loop is the title. i thought that "Invincible Iron Man" was the current title already...
