Some really great, amazing entries this time. Love them all so far. Does anyone know which sites/blogs are mentioning this thread?

It's 1971. Underground comics are happening thing. The designer smoked a little "inspiration" before he wandered into work.

    Wow.
Especially (but not exclusively) Xiao Mau, Yorko, Alberto, Paul Sizer.

    Great work all around.

    And then there's this.

    Fantastic 4

It's been a long time since I've participated in one of these. always a pleasure looking, though.

Waouh I'm very impress by all I have seen. I'm not on the disturb stuff but it's why this content exist, doing something totaly free!
there it's my tribute (sorry for my english I'm a Frenchy) For me it's a double cover page early 90's style :) And because we have so poor description I have thought that all the character must be mysterious.
    F4ntastic Four
You can find on my blog DELIRIOUS-GEEK other version and of course a link for here :)
For the number try to read upside down ;) it's a little joke.

Every single entry here is better than the actual Fantastic Four.

    Furious Four Issue 1:

    RR-F4-2-2-o1

Animal cruelty in space reaps the whirlwind.

So far my first five sketches have been stolen from my brain and finished by others. Yes I'm looking at you @cris g @valente, @mrmcdanial, @payno & @256. Each one of your posts sent me back to the start. I'm getting up early tomorrow, if anybody gets in my brain this time you better bring drinks.

I've enjoyed the hell out of this thread so far, but 256 made me cackle. Excellent work!

Not been able to do one of these for quite a while, (reality raised objections). Really, really awesome stuff so far (as ever). I hope this isn't too close to Struthersneil's brilliant idea at the top of the thread.

    Mutant four

The Thingy - As a result of the Radiation he has swollen into a great greenish Hulking thing (pure coincidence!). Unfortunately while the rest of his body warped into the fantastic, his spine remained the same size and shape causing huge distortion to his body, and dragging his brain into the base of his skull. - He is in immense pain but too stupid to notice.

Sparky Chick - Reduced to a static charge, she can only mainifest in thunder storms, large van der graff generators and the tips of malicious (nylon carpet feet dragging) children's fingertips. She now lives in an old car battery and is sexually attracted to lightning rods, and weather cocks.

Magma Boy - In constant horrible pain, he is still in a primordial state and just forming a crust, as such is suffering from widespread volcanism. In time its hoped his constant tears of pain will form small oceans and kick start plate tectonics.

Flush - Liquid at room temperature but brittle when frozen, Flush cannot find the right temperature for a comfortable existence. In great danger of being dissolved away in rain or evaporated by strong sunshine he lives on a nightmare knife edge. Occasionally his friends sneak goldfish inside him.

I can't draw for shit, sadly, but thought I'd photograph my arm and give this a go, for a change! Loving the work on here; some of you folks have real talent. Anyway, sorry for bringing the averages down:

The radiation in space was intelligent. Reconstructing the lost cosmonauts into something strange by first burning them away.

Ladies and gentlemen, we've hit io9.

Should have my piece colored and finished in a few hours! Hot damn, everyone really pulled out the stops on this one. My brain is positively spinning on psychedelic space paranoia.

I can't draw, but man do I love this thread.
    You guys are all inspiring.

Special note to mrmcdaniel...LOVE the soviet theme.

I like the cut down version of my entry they've used as a header. I might render it that way as a physical piece as well.
