@David Lee Ingersoll...love the twisted body of the bully. @Fernando Lucas..simple and sweet...nice framing with the bottle. @Hartter..nice graphic design. @Jason A. Quest....Dog-boy rocks.. @paul...sweet as usual. @HEY APATHY!....love the dark chunkiness of the lines. is it me or is everyone bringing their A-game this week?
"Chinese Whispers" is one of many names for a game in which one person whispers something to someone, who whispers it to the next person, etc. until the last person reports what he thinks the original message was, and everyone laughs at how much it changed. The idea here is to ignore what one may know about the original (if anything), and produce something based solely on what Warren over there mutters.
Weird thing, really. Seems there was a fashion for marketing various games and trinkets as oriental/exotic some time in the 20's? Probably coincided with orientalism, art noveau and all that. Sounds to me like the most likely origin of the name.
What cool thread... last week was excellent as well, I couldn't get anything done for time issues, and this week I'm recovering from appendectomy... Still, maybe before the deadline's due I get something done!
It's great that everyone can find one aspect of the stories that they want to focus on.
HEY APATHY: Again, the sheer density of your work just kills me! Fernando: Really nice simple forms, as always. Jason Quest: Thank you for echoing my thoughts that ALL of those titles, when said in a certain way, have a kind of porno feel to them. Dronecraft: Your painting has a very acid hazy feel to it, which is perfect for the vibe.
More more more! I want to see if Pia or Afua can step in and kick it up a notch. And Sobreiro; HEAL UP AND RECOVER, friend!
@Sizer: I was thinking more "shojo" than "porno". But to be honest, the pornographic possibilities go through my head with every remake/remodel I think about. A hazard of being an amateur pornographicnovelist, I suppose. :)
