@Brent Wilcox: Oh wow, thank you for reminding me that Varttina exists. I haven't thought of them for a while, and it's got a happy memory or two attached to it.
As for me, just got done listening to a bunch of Rusko, Sleep and Serge Gainsbourg at the gym. (Odd combo, I think, but it served its purpose.) Boris is in the car stereo when I'm not listening to NPR news.
@Le Dude - I probably play Varttina nearly every week, at least it seems so. Saw them live once many years ago and fell in love. Too bad I don't speak Finnish.
a lot of IRON LUNG to balance at the PANIC now. and i need to check that new ATR! i hope its better than the first new song, which seemed kind of mediocre, like it was bulilding to something it never got to? i dunno.
also i keep listening to the PHOENIX BODIES and remembering the insane show here a few years ago. their half naked singers jumping on/off my back while one of the most brutal thunderstorms of recent years pummeled the building with lights/power going on and off. then a sign flew off the building next door and barely missed lizs face, instead smashing into a windshield. holy crap.
Meanwhile, I recently walked into a nightmarish antiquery/vintage resale/local spaz art shop fronted by a tiny Japanese man with long white hair and Yoko Ono glasses, who was listening to Enrico Rava. And I fell in love.
Polygon Window - Surfing on Sine Waves Ciara - Basic Instinct Blawan's new EP Various FaltyDL. Need to check out the new album... Lone and Joy Orbison for when it's sunny.
today: Pontiak's Maker, Sin Fang Bous's Clangour, Svalastog's Woodwork, Return of the Rentals, and some Dog-Faced Hermans (remember the song about her mother being an astronaut, guys?).
Am a Teacher and one of my students is listening to some Techno/Hardcore music. So am kinda listening to that
For those who wonder, i give Graphic Design and i let them work with music on because it stimulates me to produce some nice work, so i hope it's the same for the students
