    Well folks... it's finally here.

    Witch Doctor #1

    (W) Brandon Seifert
    (A/Cover) Lukas Ketner

House M.D. meets Fringe in the first Skybound original from Robert Kirkman’s new comics imprint! Meet Vincent Morrow, a doctor looking for a vaccine... for the apocalypse! In this stand-alone first issue, a family needs Dr. Morrow’s help with their son’s illness: Demonic possession. But when Morrow attempts an experimental cure, he discovers the boy’s disease isn’t all spinning heads and pea soup — it’s like nothing you’ve seen before! Horror gets a brain transplant in Witch Doctor, the book Warren Ellis calls "Mental."
Broken Frontier calls it "arguably the most accomplished debut by a pair of new creators in recent memory."

"Witch Doctor #1 made me angry that I have to wait 30 days for Witch Doctor #2," said Newsarama Best Shots.

Fangoria.com says it's "a terrifically stylish and exciting supernatural thriller full of wild ideas."

Four stars from Comic Book Resources, and a 7.8 out of 10 from Paste Magazine.

Comics Bulletin puts it "up there with Gladstone's School for World Conquerors and Butcher Baker the Righteous Maker as some of 2011's truly great comic book premieres."

Also, io9 and iFanboy ran interviews with me (SPOILER WARNING on the io9 interview!), and USAtoday.com talked to me and Lukas.

There's a preview of the first 10 pages below. Also? Here's the ENTIRE Witch Doctor #0 issue, for FREE. And if you want to read #1 digitally too, it's on comiXology.com, and on their app for iPhone, iPad and Android.

And look, here's a grindhouse-style audio trailer, recorded for fun by our friend, Portland DJ Fatboy Roberts!

I'd love to here what people around here thought? Also, follow us on Twitter and add our page on the Facingbook!

And Witch Doctor #2 comes out in just three weeks, on July 20!

Brandon, it's been really rewarding to see it start out as just an idea and single image on this forum to what it is now. I REALLY can't wait to get my hands on this book.

I wish I could say that was intentional. :) I really appreciate how many people totally got behind us when we were just two dudes trying to make something and put it out, just to see what happened.

I'll be very pleased to add it to my pull list. :)

You're too modest, Brandon. You've been hustling this thing for the last year. A perfect storm of awesome.
  4.  (9684.6)
Jon, I've been hustling this for three years. :) But it's been in a very haphazard fashion and I'm discovering I did some things right on accident. One of which was posting a whole bunch on here and cultivating a group of people who like my project and want to see it succeed!

    And thanks Spiral!
  5.  (9684.7)
Congrats :) Amazing to see how much it's changed over the past few years and quite proud of your success. :)
    You're an inspiration, Brandon ;)

Ha! You don't know me very well. :) But thank you just the same.

Also, if you ever end up getting invited/going to Toronto Fan Expo or NYCC, I'll be the tall lady with a bottle of whiskey for you. :)
  8.  (9684.13)
    Thanks @Bill!

@oldhat, I came out for NYCC for no good reason last year, and I'm hoping to make it out again this year, now that there *is* a reason!

Comic Book Resources just did a feature story on us — including the first ten pages of art from the book! That's almost half the first issue, for free, right now.

Ketner joked "I can not open image files from Brandon while I'm eating" saying that the procedural nature of the comic has played into the research-minded methods of the comic in strange and unsettling ways. "I've turned into a much stranger person since I started researching this project," the writer laughed.

Wow, good on you. I like the enthusiasm you have for the work and your great attitude. That will make me add this to my list of things to pick up. Good luck on ya.

The art is fantastic, and the writing is good and tight.

I wonder, is there a chance that the vampire-lamprey story will get a re-telling? I did like that one quite a lot!
  11.  (9684.18)
@mjmartinejohn — Thank you! It's very interesting to me to hear that someone's adding my book to their list because of my attitude. :)

@Alan Tyson, we actually did a new version of FIRST INCISION as a B&W Con-exclusive preview issue immediately after we signed with Skybound. Hopefully that'll get collected somewhere! Also, I'm glad you liked it!
