It's Friday, it's FREAKANGELS. In which we learn there's just no cure for the common asshole.

G'morning, Whitechapel. Somehow, I've got to make it the next twelve hours until my red bull delivery gets here. That's horrible.

    How's everyone else?

    Good morning.

Great episode. "...some ink was spilled." If he believes that, they really did cure him. What an ass.

Thank the Squid, Friday is here. I just need to make it through the next 10 hours of work. I need a weekend more than ever before. Hoping to catch up on some reading and enjoy Spring before my allergies kick in and I'm miserable.

    Have a great day, everybody.

Maybe I'm just being led along the garden path by Uncle Warren but Luke does somehow seem more mature and stable after his 'treatment'. Almost like a reasonable human being. And he called Jack 'Captain Pugwash', which scores major points in my book.

And now we're finally getting to the meat of the matter - what scared Mark's shit so badly he came scurrying back to Whitechapel with his tail between his legs?

(My week was not at all notable, so I shall refrain from mentioning it further)

    Luke is still Luke.

Heh, so many lines made me smile in this one. Which is a good thing, because today I basically want to hit everyone with a massive club engraved with the words "DO IT BECAUSE IT IS YOUR JOB."

Kait looming over me would not be my ideal way to way up either.
And Alice will come barging in, in 3, 2, 1...

I call the weather we've been having 'slushing'. The weather people call it a "wintery mix", but that phrase doesn't convey the horror of the precipitation we've been having.

    Good morning.

Hmm. Well, I'll swallow the hook of Mark possibly revealing his "true" motives in the next thrilling installment... but isn't it time for that helicopter to come wump-wumping out of the time-hole???? (I am foolish. It doesn't pay to second-guess the Intertube Messiah, but I'll never learn.) Thanks, everybody!

If Alice comes in gun blazing just as Mark opens his mouth, I'll cry.

Arse of a day for me, but the birds are tweeting, so someone's happy.

Oh God, I'm up before 5am every work day for the next three months. It's even infecting my days off that I wake up before 8am. Somebody shoot me.

Episode feels like a winding down. Or maybe that's just because we know its nearing the end of this fantastic series. Or maybe the Luke brain-fucking was a bit of a climax. Either way, still very nice to see Luke being still Luke.

    oooh, plot!

Damn your withered skid-mark of a soul, Ellis. You know I hate cliffhangers.

@evelet: Warren wouldn't really do that to us, would he? Ah, buggering bollockston...

Loved the (apparent) resolution of dick head's dick head. Drama-free but with the smudge...oh the smudge. Nyuk nyuk nyuk.

This week I've been mostly bracing myself for the onset of Spring and, eventually, S*mm*r with these rising temps. My presumed part-Eskimo genes means my body doesn't work so well once things get above 12°C. (If anyone has an Icelandic bolt-hole built into a glacier I can borrow, please let me know.)

Hmm, is it wrong that I suddenly find Luke being my Favorite Character.
Yes, hes a rapist, and he is an asshole, but he's not a hypocrite like the rest of the Freak angels.
I mean, aren't they all guilt of raping the world? Aren't they all guilty of having acerbic personalities?
Wait, so maybe the reason they all hate Luke, is because he is like them, he just never bothered to hide it. They hate him because they are all like him and all are capable of doing horrible things.
Well, once again, I am impressed by the writing ability of Mr. Ellis. Cant stop without complimenting the art, which is always excellent. Good job, all around. Sucks that the story is almost over, and that Whitechapel will probably end soon after. Bummer.

Having only just caught up with the series this was the first episode I have had to wait for. I can't imagine the hell that people who have been here from the beginning have had to endure (and that I will from this point on). The next seven days can not come faster.

@ minshull: Not had your first unannounced skip-week yet? Those are fun.
    • CommentTimeMar 25th 2011
Fookwit: kinky kind of definition of "fun" you have. For me skip-weeks have the same effect as a kick-off-therapy on a drugs-addict. (at least: I think so, never have been a drug-addict...) It's not my fault that this series is so fooking addictive anyway.

btw: good episode, wonder what next week will brin g.

    Yay! It's all coming together!

I like the Third Age of Luke. From crazy arsehole rapist, to brain-addled and weirdly cute, to smart, straight-talking, fighting the good fight, yet still sarcastic and a bit of a wanker. He's not "evil" now, I think the vanishing of the dick represented that. None of them are "angels" (ironically). I like that Luke generally says what needs to be said.

So excited to see Mark awake and find out what his deal really is. There is the approach of Alice, though...

No word yet on whether his dick works or not!

    Longtimelurker... asking the important questions.

"hes a rapist, and he is an asshole, but he's not a hypocrite"

We'll just have to agree to disagree on that one. I will admit that the story being about Mark was a red herring all along. The story was always about Luke the whole time.
  8.  (9686.20)
What if Alice comes, but she overhears them and decides to listen unseen a while, then hears them talking of having caused the end of the world? That will be messy!
In any case: we're all waiting to know what the hell is that "something" whose coming worries Mark so much. And have you noticed that Mark appears somewhat attenuated?
