What I love about trailer.
The costume. Perfect. This is what worried me the most, especially when they decided to go with world war 2 movie. I was afraid the original custome would be too unrealistic but they did an excellent job. Kept the flavor of the original costume and wrapped it in a soldier uniform, which looks faded and used like it should. I got no problem with the look since story wise, Cap was supposed to be a symbol of americas strength and ingenuity. It's more than plausible that the military would have created a uniform to emphasize that symbol.

The howling commandoes. Strenghtened by the perfect image of Jim Dugan. I don't know who the actor is, but he's instantly recognizable by the fans and it reinforces that they are taking the source material seriously.

the emphasis of Weak Steve Rogers determination to join the war culminating in tha trash can lid scene. Unlike others, I didn't think it was cheesy, i thought it was perfect.

the shield being thrown.

the red skull appearance.

That Howard Stark is the one who pulls the lever that turns on the machine that creates Captain America. Going from memory, this was never been a part of the comic book canon, but it should have been:)

What I didn't like about the trailer. Mostly nit picking. When all I can do is nit pick, that is a good sign.

The girl shooting at the shield. For me, this was the most unrealistic moment in the trailer. The way the trailer is set up, it looks like there were other people in the room, especially a guy who was just standing next to steve rogers. No trained soldier, male or female, would shoot a gun so recklessly, the ricochets could have hit anyone else in that room including the girl doing the shooting. Im hoping that was just the trailer edit, and not the actual movie edit of this scene.

The flamethrowers scene. Another scene that bugged me, why try to coral Captain with flame, why not just shoot directly at him and kill him? I'm hoping that the story explains why they weren't trying to kill him. Maybe the enemy want to capture him to try and gain the knowledge of the super soldier serum.

The sound of the Shield. I've always believed that the shield should have a distinct sound when it flies through the air and when it ricochets or hits something, a sound that would be instantly recognizable, like the sound of a light saber. There was no such sound in the trailer.

If a bullet hits the shield and all (or even most) of its kinetic energy is absorbed by it, then the bullet can't ricochet. Via the power of comic book and/or movie magic, this property does not extend to the kinetic energy of the shield itself, thus allowing it to whang off of walls and Nazis and such and return to Cap.

*doffs nerd hat*

@ ginja I don't think "realism" has much of a relationship with anything to do with Captain America or any superhero film

Which is probably why you aren't planning on watching this film or if you do, you would not enjoy it that much.

Me being a comic book nerd, I accepted, or if you want to be specific, I am willing to suspend my disbelief when it comes to superhero films.

In the end, when I meant realism, I meant within the context of the story. I want the Captain America story to be great, so it concerns me when I see a scene that suggests the story may have illogical jumps of logic, plot holes, or weak characterization. A trailer's job is to get a movie audience interested in watching the movie. This one scene, the way its edited, suggests that the movie may be lacking in smart storytelling and would put off anyone that might have been on the fence about watching the movie.

But like I said, I am only basing it on the trailer the actual scene may play out differently/better.

@ davidlejeune

Being a fellow nerd, I am perfectly aware of the shield's properties, and thinking about it, if the extended scene showcases how the shield works than....Excellent!!

@ BenKlumaster

Are you patronizing me? :)
