Trap Them - Darker Handcraft This is the soundtrack to domesticating horses and going on moonlit raids. Gets me all G.Kahn. this is horse-core
Atari Teenage Riot - Is This Hyperreal? Like pouring energy drinks in my ears, straight through to my brain. I'm not going to sleep tonight.
Chrissy Murderbot - Women's Studies Hands down my favorite juke-rave-jungle-disco-dubstep-hi-NRG-gangsta-dancehall-ghetto-garage-core album, to date. It's a joyously hilarious juvenile album all about, you know, S E X and the procurement of it but in a non-misogynistic party forward way. There's also a rad video
Lil B - I'm Traxx/6kiss Legendary based scriptures from the basedgod himself. Chasing the Rain
the Mountain Goats - All Eternals Deck JD + co leading me through 13 songs, most with an uplifting twist, some documenting the drug intake of a young Judy Garland enforced by the studio. This is very different from the last few and it's tone reminds me more of We Shall All Be Healed or even as far back as All Hail West Texas Goddamn these Vampires
If you are into Uk Hip-Hop (or any hip-hop at all) and haven't heard of Highbury's Chester P Hackenbush* (from UK scene legends Task Force, Mud Fam, Bury Crew, MFTC) then you may not know he released a brand new LP yesterday - available for a fiver from Bandcamp
still jamming the SAFETY WORDS 'mixtape'*. its kids cutting up Nintendo beats and using them as the beat for various Wu Tang projects. love it.
and the brutal grind assault of CALIFORNIA LOVEs 'cant waste death' 12"ep over here. CRUSHING VIOLENCE. the lp is a pretty, pretty green color. the download is, uh, invisible i guess
*when almost everything is a digital album, what the fuck does this even mean???
@joe.distort in the case of safety words i think mixtape is being used to denote that it's an unofficial release and they claim no ownership over content not created by them. It's a aww-shucks you guys rock but i would really not like you to sue me.
All week I've been listening to Esben & the Witch after hearing about them on Rue Morgue Radio a couple of weeks ago. They might all just be posing hipsters designed to appeal to the NME crowd but somehow the music comes across like Florence & The Machine if Florence's lungs were filled with blood and she was burning at the stake.
Last week it was Creature Feature, who sound like a metal/industrial version of the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack. I checked them out because a pal of mine had been doing some artwork for them, and I'm pretty sure one of the band is working on something zombie related with Gris Grimly.
Been listening to the new PJ HARVEY, JAMES BLAKE, SHUGO TOKUMARU, RADIOHEAD and ANNA JÄRVINEN records. Also this really nice mix-thingy: http://stayglued.tumblr.com/post/3563755843
Is that new or old Atari Teenage Riot? I've been listening to Lolita Storm all day too, love Digital Hardcore, I was always sorry that it didn't take over the world and then mostly imploded.
It sounds like you'd like Tooms, a new band from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne featuring a load of rave and metal loving idiots.
