oh, yeah i stopped getting into new ska around 99 as i got more involved in hardcore/grindcore/etc. i ended up seeing STREETLIGHT a few years ago, they were ok, but i think the appeal of third wave ska was, for me, strictly based around 95-99 and what my life was like then. i still go see some of the bands i liked then, will catch VOODOO GLOW SKULLS in about three weeks.

Pye Corner Audio's Black Mill Tapes vol.2 is terrific.....One of the finest pieces of work to come out of that whole hauntological peculiar English electronic music thing so far.

Also , on a more noir dubstep theme , Old Apparatus are astonishing. If you like the blacker-than-black industrial wash of Raime and the melancholy of Burial , this is for you.....

Old Apparatus are excellent. Did you hear about them through Blackest Ever Black as well? Man they so know where they'Re coming from with the music style and influences.

It's one of those lightning in a bottle moments where Rashad spins disco, house and juke over a span of two hours. A++ Killarino

@infomancer - NICE! I think Thirlwell's work is incredibly overlooked and underrated. First couple of records he did without a sampler apparently.

right now I'm listening to the new TV on the Radio. a couple of tracks remind me of Earth, Wind and Fire...straight up baby making music.

this Xander Harris album is pretty good, but i think maybe it's just Umberto under another moniker. it's pretty much the same sound.
