    @Rachæl Tyrell - I dunno, I'm trying not to mind three friends jumping into the contest a week after me and getting a zillion votes in just a few days. Meh, this is the life, I guess. Another life lesson, yay. Maybe my tongue in cheek answer should be "I don't mind as long as you still vote for me *wink*" But my real answer is jump on in the water's great! Would love to hear your take.

    @Renthing Excellent!

    @GovSpy good drinking to ya, hope it helps. I don't know why but punishing the kidneys always seems to make life more tolerable.

    Resting and cleaning today. Let's see if I can make through the day without putting on shoes. ending the day with a clean bathroom will go a long way toward making life awesome.

    Related to nothing: FLCL/Fooly Cooly is very, very weird. I can't look away and yet I can't make head or tales out of it. Reminds me of coming off of acid. Like I should get what's going on but somehow it's just not clicking.

    @rachael hooray for hat recovery!
    @faux, I'm using that one.
    @govspy, Hope it helps!
    @Argos, as I said on twitter, I can't wait to get back to running and (if I have the money) back to boxing lessons. Those endorphins, holy hell!

    Today, my father has left for LA (take good care of him, you folks!) and mom is off to a meeting. I have the house to myself and have been going through my dad's record collection (one of the biggest in Canada apparently) and dug up some albums for our new record player. Later I'll be sipping a pale ale and smoking a cigar.

    Also today, I got caught in the worst part of a rainstorm. I've never smiled so much. I love getting absolutely drenched.

    @ Oldhat - BECKS IN A CAN. Also, we should have drinks soon. And anyone else in the Toronto area. Drinks, now that the weather's getting fine!

    @ Rachæl Tyrell *blushes*

    Glad you liked the post. There's another one coming up soon. I'm trying to hit a weekly deadline, so I don't de-rail my novel writing.

    Last night: Going to a reading at Symphony Space for Neil Gaiman stories, finding Glukakke there, having fancy drinks afterwards. AWESOME.

    @mister Hex, I think we are about due for a drink-up. I need to get me some money first, though. The poorness, it surrounds me.
    @Denari you made a reader out of me! Awesome work so far!

    Um, pretty much this.
    I also bought myself a bento box, inspired by Argos' happiness with it. Looking forward to making lunches now.

    I'm just gonna say this: you have no idea what love is, until you're pulling broken glass out of your lover's ass while they scream obscenities at you.

    I told myself I'd get my latest novel drafted and proofread by April 30th. I managed it a couple days early. Bliss!

    I may be late to the party, but I've been working on rewrites on my latest screenplay and I'm two pages away from completion of the second issue of my comic book (and I know exactly what those two pages should look like). All four are outlined so it's just a matter of filling in the blanks (and finding the time to fill blanks in). Then there's the problem of all my artist friends being lazy SOBs who never deliver, but that's a stress for another day.

    And I'm making slow but steady progress on my album. It's only been almost two years since I've started it. I'm hoping the time I'm taking will mean it doesn't have as many flaws as my past work has.

    I've got two good artists to choose from for my debut comic!

    Not long ago (and before I offered financial incentives) the number of talented artists I had to choose from was... bugger all!!!
  4.  (9722.152)
    Gordon, what financial incentives are you offering, if you don't mind my asking?

    @sellmeyoursoul Oops, sorry! You must've posted your comment seconds before I did and I genuinely didn't see it before posting - I hope it didn't come across as, you know, taunting or anything like that. Just a case of incredibly bad timing on my part!

    The financial incentive I offered was an up front page rate, balanced out by whatever we make on the back end if it gets picked up. It wasn't a huge amount, but it did make a big difference when it came to pimping my wares on forums and the likes of deviantART.

    My dog (Kira) is mentioned in the below article about dog blood donors:

    http://www.dovelewis.org/pdf/news-releases/april_30_blood_donors_superheroes.pdf

    Ironically, the most likely outcome of six big dogs meeting in a noisy bar is a monumental snap and growl fest.

    Got drunk and, somehow, got a job based on my knowledge of beer at my favorite pub. He has agreed to my price and we're going to have a meeting next month. The hell.

    And now it's my favourite part of the month: killing this horrible thread.
