@Rachæl Tyrell: That's somehow awesome and sad; almost lonely, at the same time, very nice.

Oh, and here's some Bondi Beach, at about 7 in the morning:
    Sunrise over North Bondi

And just a part of Bondi I quite enjoyed photographing:
    Bondi Wall

With this (truly horrendous, I freely admit) panorama to finish it all off:
    Bondi Panorama

    Oh well, it's a start.

I'm a bit disturbed by just how sexy that model looks all done up as Spider Jerusalem.

i saw Pantha du Prince on friday night, and was too busy completely losing my shit to remember i had a camera in my bag until the last minute or so. still, this intoxicated picture is more clear and bright than anything i could've done with my old lens. i'm hopelessly in lens-love.

(but what i really like about this picture is that he's a guy-with-laptop, totally, yet he's showing way more life than dumbstruck crowd dude.)

    also, bicycle polo!

@Allana - Wow. Bicycle polo looks amazing and fun, but a sure fire way for me to crack my teeth open. It's got fabulous composition and solid black space.
@COOP - Everything is angled and balanced so perfectly! And, man, you should have seen her naked with the strap on. Here's some more of the lovely Jiz Lee. I wish I knew who the artist girl was.

    Posing with an artist.

    Posing with an artist.

    happiness and middle fingers.

And that last has our own Glukakke in a case of "crap! it's low light, grainy, and not focused! I'll have to lamely salvage the shot with high contrast monochrome!"

    iPhone

Got an iPhone. Got a pile of photography apps. It has become my default point and shoot camera. All is good.

These are out of character for me, but I went down to a flower ranch today:

    bud
    conceited
    yellow
    bam
    opening

That last one is the most pornographic flower shot I've ever taken. I actually feel a little uncomfortable looking at it.

Flowers!! You have no idea how much I want spring to start behaving itself up here. And as for the last one, flowers are the reproductive organs of plants, so of course they can look pornographic. And apparently there's an orchid in the Australian desert that functions as a blowup doll for a species of male wasps(if I remember correctly) . Or that Orchid Family's name is based off of the Greek word for testicle. And I think that is enough filthy flower facts for now.

@Rachel, thanks! some of the other shots had no motion blur, which made the sport look boring. i was glad to have just a few turn out - but their playing space is so photo-friendly it's unreal.

    @ Oddbill
    love the flowers.
I filled a hip flask with brandy the other day and went for a roam around my local park photographing flowers. got some very strange looks from passers-by but was too ripped to care and came home muddy and contented with lots of photos.

we had end of term performances in college last week. most of my photos were blurry crap (i'm an enthusiastic learner with no concept of technique) but was pretty pleased with this one...

@Coop, Elliot Erwitt is definitely a solid comparison, both in subject matter and composition and choice of camera. Erwitt is another devoted Leica-ist. Someday I hope to be able to afford one, in the meantime I have this:

FED 3, Zubrowka Fine Polish Vodka

(Bottle of Polish vodka not included)

Thanks for the complimentary comparison! Leica or no, shooting with a rangefinder camera makes you think about photography in a completely different way - it's challenging, but even more rewarding when you nail a shot.

Recently obtained a Canon T70, my first SLR so I'm having to learn how to focus with the lenses and so on.
Here are some pics from my first roll of film taken with the camera.

@Rob Spalding, those colours are great, especially in the second and third shots. what kind of film were you using?

i regularly go through cameras at thrift stores to see if there are any forgotten rolls of film. this time there were a bunch of slide cartridges!

@allana It's just Kodak Colour Plus. I think it's been hiding in the house for a while.
