What're the rules here about shilling stuff?

I've got a page of Transmet original art and one of the very few pieces of art from Ministry of Space, by the old boss, that are going to be going up on ebay, and figured that there might be some interest in those here, or if anyone might make me an offer for them ahead of that to spare the fees and hassle etc.

Not sure what the arrangement for that sort of thing is, or if it's frowned upon. I know general shilling would be inappropriate, but it's still ostensibly on topic, even in terms of ancient history, I suppose.

    I think that's a no-no.

I have a rather inane but potentially amusing idea for a future remake/remodel thread. May I suggest it, or will attempting to do so only result in an eternity of maggoty horror?
  3.  (9742.124)
    Suggest it, sure.

    Cool. This...
Black Rod and Serjeant at Arms
What if Black Rod and Serjeant at Arms weren't functionaries of the British Parliament, but superheroes defending Westminster against cads and ne'rdowells?
(I said it was inane :)

They sound more like porn actors than government functionaries . . . . . .
  6.  (9742.127)
That is, of course, the alternative. Hot Minister on Lord action until the division bell sounds!

Whaddayaknow -- I like it. Very good idea. Watch this space.

Didn't Paul Cornell's Knight and Squire do something like that? If not, it should have.

A couple people in the Ask Whitechapel thread have mentioned bringing back a Pet Owner's thread (which must have been before my time because I don't remember it). May I start such a thread, or would that cross the threshold for inane photo posting? Mostly I just don't want the attack maggots sent after me if I start a thread dedicated to squee-inducing pet photos (not that I would be posting pet photos edited with that absurd Japanese photo booth app I just got or anything dumb like that. Never....)

No, definitely start it up. If it gets too "squee" I will, of course, eat you and everyone you've ever known. But that's a given.

I've got a book up at Amazon, outside of OPEN MIC -- the Three Act Speakeasy Thread, is there a place to mention it?

I started a thread a year ago about advice for a trip to London. Can I get it reopened to post a few pictures from the trip?
  10.  (9742.136)
Nope, that ain't how WC works. No resurrections. By all means start a new thread.

    Boo-urns. Will do.

Aw, the Pet thread is both sinked and now impossible to post in, after only four pages? Someone must not like pets.

    Too! Much! Squee!

What if we only promise to post about how we eat what we kill, and kill what we eat...?

    No...? Too much?
