The best way to start these things is to get everyone saying hello. So please introduce yourselves in this thread, adding a photo if you've got one (trust me -- the web works much better when people see that there are real people on the other end of a post).

Obviously, if you've said hello in previous Introduction threads, there's no need to do it again.

We don't insist on real names here. I find it helps, but, frankly, if you want to be a completely fictional invention of yourself, go right ahead. Hell, I've even known people who have started out fictional and then become their own invention.

    Hello. I'm Warren.

    Hello all

Time to emerge from the shadows of lurkiness. I am Paul, or Cardo as I'm known. Big fan of comics/graphic novels and of course Mr Ellis' work. I'm afraid I'n not a writer or an artist but I am in awe of the work submitted in these here threads. It's a pleasure to check in.

I am a well travelled Scotsman living on 'The Rock', or the Isle of Man as it is sometimes called (I don't even like motorbike racing), mostly evading tax and working at the airport as a firefighter. I'm rubbish with my pc and had to be led by the hand to put a link on the net thread (thanks to those who helped). I have tried and failed to imbed an image but I can link you to a flickr pic of my grid for future reference! I warn you, it was during last years 'movember' where I had to grow a comedy 'tache for charidee, so beware.

Anyway, thanks for the opportunity to say 'hello' and thanks for all the great work I get to enjoy regularly.

PS the 'tache is now gone. Huzzahs!

I will be probably not that much clear, but lets go. Today, I wake up eleven in the morning, seated in front of my lap top and go to twitter. A link with a link with a link after it, eleven and half I started reading Freakangels from the beginning. Now, are eleven of the night. I finished the last episode.

Yes, I spent my entire sunday in front of it,excepting from the traditional sunday spaghetti (I'm a oriundi, italian descendent). Well, two things. Or I'm really nuts or this thing is really impressive. I hope for the second though.

So, my name is Sarah, I'm a brazilian art teacher and amateur writer and mother of a little clan of husband, son and friends. I really love science fiction, and fantasy and all these nerdy things, even in comics, literature, art or whatever. But comics is something I really crave for (like my experience today can illustrate), but I'm not that much actualized. I spent a lot of time reading old things and brazilian new writers every time I found someone.

Well, hi everybody, I forgive if I sound a litle bit crazy with the overflow of information of reading all it in a day, and sorry for any language mistakes, my english is awful.

Hello everyone - my name is Aaron. By day I work for one of the Big Four U.S. banks and by night I write. I'm a fan of most things Ellis/Morrison/Moore, love Kyuss still, and really, really hate spiders.

    Hi.

I'm one of the ever-cold, almost pale blue numpties that run across the wild hills of Scotland. Of course this means I know how to drink, how to fight and how to swear. That's about it. Day job sees me doing PR and info sharing for various charities and voluntary groups. Also a freelance writer with some film and TV credits to my name, but no comics yet (I aim to change this!). Yes, I'm one of the few Scotsmen who actually works. They're probably getting ready to take my passport and boot me across the border.

Been a comics fan most of my life - I spent my childhood admiring Judge Dredd punching the shit out of anyone who looked dodgy. I became a fan of Mr Ellis when a friend/comic pusher hooked me up with a copy of Transmetropolitan (the first one's always free, isn't it?). Since then I've tried to pick up everything he's written and given him so much of my cash I reckon I must at least own one of his toes by now.

As well as comics I'm a big fan of the usual stuff: film, TV, books, music, going to gigs, setting fire to homeless people etc.

I hope to one day be the subject of a Crimewatch special.

Hello - my name is Lucia.
I work at night taking care of old people. When I get home everything's quiet until lunchtime when a storm trooper get-together takes place- my boys and other people's boys and more children - the usual.

I've been reading comics since i was ten, that's over 25 years now.
Science fiction was probably also my first love along with crime (fiction).

My youth was spent listening to the Pixies singing about extraterrestrials, drinking to much and reading anything i could get my hands into. Marvel, Miller, Moore, Muth, Mignola, "m"'s a good letter!

In the 2000's, what a decade!

Instant fan of Warren Ellis work.

It seems I'm in the right place.

Hi, my name is Rich Douek

I'm an aspiring comics writer, currently working on my first script. I've written fiction, short stories etc. in the past, but comics have always been something I wanted to do... been a fan of them for as long as I can remember.

I'm also big into science fiction, fantasy, gaming... if it's the slightest bit nerdy I'm probably into it.

Currently living in NYC, where I work in advertising, doing my best not to take Bill Hicks' advice to people in my current line of work.

Anyway, I hope to share some work here once I have stuff worth sharing, and meet some other creators and fans.

Ok, time to register. Hi, my name is Norbert.

I've been a fan of comics ever since I could read. I almost quit several years later, but along came Stormwatch 37 (thanks Warren). I like music, movies and obscure interesting things in general a lot, so I might like it here ;-)

I've been lurking for a while now, was a member of the old Warren Ellis forum, but it seems like a good time to hop on here.

    Cheers

Ah, yes - I suppose now that my life will allow me to come back here I should - well reintroduce myself! I'm Philip, most of me is pretty much described by saying I've always loved books and drawing, I was an anarcho-communist type, and I joined the army, spending two years there as a medic, one at home, and one in Afghanistan. I loved every minute of it. I'm still figuring out all the ways it changed me.

    This is me.

    Hello everyone,
My name is Dominic, and for most of my life I never really ready many comics, but I have very much enjoyed FreakAngels. By day I'm an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, and a firefrighter/emt

I write a little bit, but not particularly often, and I'm a pretty big film fan,
    Nice to meet everyone!

Hi I'm Rob. I'm an artist from Britain living in L.A. I actually got turned onto Warren from an article/blog post he wrote about James Bond and I've been following ever since, I actually met Warren at Dragoncon where he signed my friends Transmet #1 before I'd even read it, crazy eh? Reading Fell at the moment, FreakAngels to follow.

I feel like I've been away for a long time. I think I have. Anyhow, I'm Andrew. I was an artist and graphic designer in a former life, now I am a lawyer working for the government. I was raised by hyenas.

In my spare time, I spend loads of energy promoting the arts and trying to make myself feel creative, even if I don't produce anything anymore. I've lately gotten in the habit of starting and supporting kickstarter projects, and sometimes working as a producer or agent for artist and writer friends. My latest hobby has been making mead, and my first batch turned out to be not only palatable, but also good for curing what ails you.

I live and work in and around New York City. You can probably find me in basement bars in the Lower East Side, gibbering blasphemies, on Thursday afternoons.

And, this is a photograph of me:

Hullo. Name's Phil. 26. Homo urbanus. I hitchhike and I write and I want to be a black hole when I grow up.

I hated Warren for killing off Fuji and Hellstrike and Fahrenheit, but then The Authority came along and made everything better. Then I discovered Spider Jerusalem, and I haven't looked back.

Beer gives me a reason. Lovely to meet you all.

Good morning si, nah I won't say it,

My name is Jason, I justed to post as Skizz but have changed it to a name that is me. Everyone calls me Beamish so that is what it is. I am currently a mortgage processor but am in the process of quitting that to go into IT, I study now. I am also working on a short comic that a friend and I are planning to submit to different compilation books. The initial script and layouts are done, I have to rewrite to to fit the page now, I will post a sample when it is ready.

I've been a member here since '08, but as I've been barely active for the last few months so thought a quick re-introduction would be in order.

I'm Steve, I'm a mid-thirties english bloke that lives in the middle of Nottingham, which is in the middle of the UK.

Professionally I am in the Waste/Recycling industry, which is not as manky as you might imagine.
But it does open your eyes to how wasteful of resources we in the West are.

I used to DJ regularly, and dabble at making mix-tapes and my own little beat-making efforts, but in the last few years I just haven't had time for any of that kind of thing.

Now my main focus for creativity is the allotment I look after with my missus - I'm currently a variety of vegetables, and we have a few well established blackberry and raspberry bushes as well as two apple trees and a pear tree. It's a huge learning experience and quite healthy for the soul too (as I'd barely see the outdoors if it wasn't for the allotment, atm).

This is a photo of me in my usual natural habitat:

    Hi all!

My name is Frank and I live in Ohio. (Yes, people do actually live here.) Long time listener, first time caller and all that.

Like many of you, I'm a writer. I've written some short stories, some comics, working on a couple of novels and some children's books, and I have a webcomic floating around the interwebs.

I also dabble in art and graphic design. I'm actually the guy who designed the cover to the book Warren mentioned on his blog a few months back. (I *may* have geeked out just a tad at this...)

Hello all. My name is Jim, and I've been the king of all lurkers for quite a while. If you can pin down the provenance of my posting handle, then we have at least a little something in common.

I'm a writer (marketing, not the next Leaves of Grass, sorry) currently based in North Carolina, U.S., and a New York native. Freakangels is my first Ellis/Duffield experience, and I've had a wonderful, maddening ride.

Why did I lurk? It's not my style to take up space unless I feel I have something to say. Why de-lurk now? I finally have something to say -- or to ask, really. I'll take that over to a thread where it belongs.

I've followed the weekly installments ferociously, and the community thread only occasionally. Sometimes the new pages post before I have to go to work; at other times, I read them at work, which involves using my phone with the office WiFi turned off because Freakangels is blocked due to "violence" (but the things you can see on CNN... great googly moogly.) My thanks to all of you who have shared insights and personal glimpses along the way.

Picture of me at Strawberry Fields, the memorial to John Lennon in New York, like some confused novice magician wondering why the demon has chosen to manifest in the circle as the words "IMAGINE".

I've been reading Freakangels for a while.Paul Duffield is a god unto artists etc. Warren Ellis's writing needs no praising on his own forum.

I feel sort of dumb that I've joined the forum with only 12 episodes left to go, which may mean Whitechapel will shut down soon? Hopefully not. Oh, and it may amuse people to know that when my friends saw me lurking on here, they, laughing, asked if Whitechapel was a forum for white supremacists. Moo ha ha ha. IT'S MUCH, MUCH WORSE, i hissed, madness and trauma gleaming in my eyes.(I redirect you to the picture of gofrankgo eating a puppy above, as my case)

Spider Jerusalem is, of course, regardless of Ellis's exasperated explanations, my role model. XD. I'm young enough to probably make all of you laugh if I told you my age. I live in Canada, which is basically America, but less fucked up, colder, and has Arcade Fire. No, no, we disowned Justin Bieber a while ago. My city is Vancouver, so I intend to madly fanstalk William Gibson and Eckhart Tolle one day :P. I intend to be a chaos magician(or at least try), PUA, writer, cartoonist, and possibly lead singer/guitarist in a band I've started. That's about it. Nice to meet you all.

    Heya,

I go by Slim on the Twitter and elsewhere. After long walks on the beach I enjoy Instapapering on my iPad while relaxing on the toilet. When not sitting in my office, I record a podcast about comics, and also a podcast about tech with my wife. I'm kind of a tech nut so all the podcasts I do, I record on my iPad. Also, I started a Tumblr that lists $2 DRM-free digital comics, too.

I have a son, James. He can't use the iPad, yet, sadly.

Here is a drawing of my by the great Andrew Fulton. Thanks for having me.
