The only trouble with sharing this awesomely good news is that I'll now spend the time between now and the release chewing holes in the carpet in eager anticipation!
I understand if you're unable/unwilling to answer this, sir, but is Gun Machine a novel you're in the process of writing, have already written and needs to go through the publication process, or haven't start writing yet? This is mostly curiosity about at which stage a novel starts getting pimped by its publisher.
Hurrah! This means that every time I lock myself away in my weapons church and make sweet Meatman-esque love to my gun-lady I'll be thinking of you, Warren.
Now that the book interviews are forthcoming I predict at least a few interviewer comments along the lines of "A book? But you're a comic writer. You've written one already, really?"
"The chances of finding an imprint editor who likes and can quote from FELL and DOKTOR SLEEPLESS at will were pretty fucking slim, but here I am. And the space between those two books, undiluted, is pretty much where I am with GUN MACHINE." This makes me think of tessellation, which is probably not what you meant at all, but is madly intriguing.
