It's one of these... I know, I KNOW -- the thing is just to remain calm and take deep breaths. We're almost to the end of the series, so you *could* think of skips as rationing out the comics a little longer...

Yeah, I know.

Anyway, how's everyone doing this morning? Our spring has taken a turn for the rainy, butt it's not that cold so it's not that bad. Except for the five minutes of hail day before yesterday. That was a little weird.

The end? Really? There's so much more store that could be told! Still...much like Babylon 5 and the Galactica remake, when a series has a definitive end the quality of the story is so much better. I'll take quality over quantity. :D

I'm the senior tech on our team now, so I get to train the 3 new hires we have coming in. And write the training materials. Why is it that we couldn't find anyone qualified in the last 4 years and now we double in size? Bah. So much for my weekends this spring. :( Other than that...living life and loving it. GenCon event registration opens up in a few weeks. So pumped.

Things are cooling down nicely here in the far antipodes, I've actually needed to haul out a blanket for the first time in about six months. For someone with stubbornly northern-European genes this can only be a good thing.

trying to make a dreadfully-implemented Interwoven CMS explode by the power of thought alone and failing. And then facing having to sort out about £2m of invoices. My colleague has literally gone AWOL and can't be contacted so I have to pick up his work too. My boss's small children are about to arrive, having already destroyed a stand in the atrium of the building.

Send medicine, nurses and napalm, stat. And maybe an apocalypse. Thanks.

I've been thinking, are there any plans to combine all of the Freakangel volumes into one mega volume (of DOOM!) at some point when the whole thing is done? Or will I have to buy all the collected editions to fulfill my Freakangel habit?

Yep, another skipweek, it was to be expected. Oh well, the commerce must have it's way too, I know.

Weather here is fine: clouds with spells of sun every now and then, temperatures around 15°C, almost no wind... ideal weather to make tours on my motorbike. Life is good. 8-D

I read 4-5 other online web comics and NONE of them do notices / merchandise plugs.

This isn't like other "online" web comics (are there "offline" web comics?). This one is good. And worth the wait. Don't know if you noticed, but most of us are savoring every week as it's spoon fed to us. Why whine at this late in the game? I'd like to say the story is getting really good, but it's been this good the whole time, and likely will until the last panel, which will most likely take a huge LSD dump in my eye.

@Neila Last I heard, from Mark, and I believe Warren too, that there are no plans to close WC at the end of FA.

Some webcomics seem to exist for the sole purpose of selling merch. =)

My school in Hong Kong, HKBU, has a tremendous wall of Warren's stuff - most of the Avatar books, GF, Planetary, etc., but only one FA book. Somebody there must really be a fan. =)

@Ikuza - I don't know if you've noticed, but this is six pages a week of well-written, well-drawn (HAND-drawn) actual comics that happen to be on the web. So thanks for starting an account just to bitch.

@Ariana, Warren, Paul, [art team whose names I still can't fucking remember] - I have't been around a lot lately, but I'd like to thank you all so much for this. I just got my Vol. 5 last week and it's gorgeous. Fantastic stuff, and this has easily been my favorite couple years on the web. End of an era and all that shit.

I might have to break down and get a field bag to replace my CROSSED bag which has a busted latch.

So anyway another chance to drool over those Field Bags and try to do origami with my bank account before admitting I can't run to one. I do like them though, they're cool and practical.

It took my head about 3 days to decompress after Kapow. I really don't do crowds. A nice quiet weekend for me this week where I gather my strength for Easter, the Weekend of Screaming Nephews Who I Love To Bits Really. :D

Just signed on to reply to some of what I'm seeing. To the team, you guys are amazing! You put out an episode 3 times a month on average. SIX pages per episode!. Most other web comics I get 3 pages a week if I'm lucky. You guys average 4 or more a week. And it's Really good, art and story. People are just upset because they want more. I can understand that. But when a diamond falls into your lap, it's king of silly to bitch about how you "Only got the one." You know, they'll miss you when you're gone. Anyway, thanks for the ride. I'm strapped into KK's 'Copter, there is no air control and I'm looking forward to the final approach. Happy landings all!

Hey Guys, cheers for some of the best stories around ,Warren...
and that Ikuza..I've seen him around under different names but always with that 'I'm having a time out to learn some manners' atop his posts.
but he never seems to learn them manners.
There was an article over at the guardian website talking about ,George r Martin taking wild vitriol from fans for being years late with the latest game of thrones book, and Neil Gaiman chimed in about all these little fellers with their enormous sense of entitlement and summed it all up by saying "George r. Martin is not your bitch." and amen to that.
and Warren definitely ain't your bitch, son.
If you can't wait for the creators to create then try writing your own stories...gratitude,remeber that?

Ok, now I've sttoped to scream about "whyyyyy just now when I start to read it's a notice todaaaayyyy?" I think I'm suffering of abstinence after reading everything.

The idea of an ending is very sad. This could be longer... but at other point, close things with sense and don't destroying the good work is better.

The bag is so awesome. I really want one. But when I think in the price converted to my country money, and more shipping and them wait for two months because the guys in the customhouse think I'm a terrorist or a contrabandist and stop everything I import, *sighs* . in these moments I hate been a teacher.

And about spring... here fall arrived, the sunset is earlier every day. I can walk behind the trees justto crack dry leafs walking. =)

I did some counting the other day (maths is not my strong point) and I realised that at 24 pages a week that's a higher page expectation than an American comic book. As the creators of those often work 12 hour days or more, 6 days a week, you can't blame Team FA for having some breaks. It's an insane schedule. :)

staticgirl - Six pages a week, 24 panels a week. However, I've read various places that penciling one page a day is a good number to shoot for. Just pencils. So drawning, inking, coloring, and lettering six pages a week is pretty damn good. Even with an expanded art team (as opposed to when they first started and Paul was doing pretty much everything himself!), that's a lot of work. Considering there hasn't been a gap of more than a week or two at any point in three years, yeah. Each and every person that's on this is still a goddamn superhuman.
